Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
13 - 12 - 0, fighting out of New York, Emory Majors! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
16 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Orion Cook! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Excellent takedown into side control there by Majors. Majors has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Cook takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Majors tries to stand but Cook is controlling his head. You can see the frustration on Cook's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Majors goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Cook has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Majors but great work by Cook. Majors manages to get back to half guard. Cook prevents Majors from improving his position. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Cook throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Cook thows a huge punch but Majors dodges it nicely.

That's one minute gone in the round. Cook creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Majors sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Cook is putting a hurting on Majors here, landing some big shots from side control. Majors manages to get back to half guard. Cook sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Majors defending well though. Cook is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Majors defends it well. Majors regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Cook. Cook looking to pass the guard. Cook is looking to work some ground and pound but Majors has wrist control. Majors pulls Cook in close to prevent any damage. Cook is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cook throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Cook with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Cook is looking to work some ground and pound but Majors has wrist control.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Cook postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Majors is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Cook, into his guard. Majors stopping the sweep attempt from Cook. Majors scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Majors is in close to Cook's body, working some short punches and elbows. Cook is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Majors tries to free his leg and advance position but Cook is retaining full guard. Majors cracks Cook with a solid left hand. Cook is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Majors defends well. Majors throws an elbow that misses. Cook uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Majors's guard. Nice move by Cook! Majors wants to sweep but no luck. Cook loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Majors avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Cook looking to pass the guard. Majors wants to sweep but no luck. Majors has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Cook with a nice head shot there. Majors keeping full guard, as Cook tries to pass. Cook throws a strike but Majors rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Cook has momentary wrist control but Majors slips an elbow through the middle. This has been an exciting period of action! Cook escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Majors gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Majors scores with a decent looking elbow strike. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Majors tries to free his leg and advance position but Cook is retaining full guard. Majors throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Emory Majors will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Majors fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Cook sprawls well initially but Majors persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Cook tries to roll over but Majors keeps him under control. Majors slips a nice elbow through Cook's hands, connecting with Cook's forehead. Majors seems to be working for a kimura but Cook defends the submission attempt. Majors landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Cook wants to improve his position but Majors is controlling well.

Majors trying to mount his opponent but Cook defends it. Majors working over Cook with some ground and pound. Cook looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Majors is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Majors is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Cook is just riding it out for now. Majors eventually gives up the hold.

Majors throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Cook works some decent striking defense from the bottom. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Majors is looking to work some ground and pound but Cook has wrist control. Cook keeping full guard, as Majors tries to pass. Cook looking for a guillotine here but Majors defends easily.

Cook looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Emory Majors is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Cook is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Majors pulls his head out easily. Cook takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Cook is defending against the submission attempts here by Majors.

Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Cook. Majors with good strikes from the mount here! Cook sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Majors with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Cook keeps control of the position for the meantime.
And that's the end of the fight! Emory Majors showed his dominance in that final round. Well Majors has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

In favor of your winner, by unanimous decision... Emory Majors! Emory Majors decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
