Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Len Sampson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Patrick Cote (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Len Sampson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Patrick Cote!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sampson tries to keep at a distance but Cote has taken the fight into the clinch.
Cote tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Sampson smiles and moves away.

Cote bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Sampson tries to control but end up mounted... ooooh, that's bad.
Sampson is squirming around, avoiding Cote's attempts to control the action.
Sampson wants to control but Cote is having none of it.
Cote tries to control but Sampson wriggling away.
Sampson tries to reverse the position but Cote maintains control.
Cote wants to control the pace but Sampson is squirming around nicely.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Cote avoids the attempt from Sampson to control.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sampson tries to hold on but Cote pushes him away.
Cote tries to control but Sampson wriggling away.

Sampson is looking to get to half guard.
Cote punishing his opponent with strikes.
Cote really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Sampson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Sampson tries to lock up and control but Cote gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Cote is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!

Sampson shoots in and gets a takedown into Cote's guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Cote working a defensive guard but Sampson manages to pass into side control anyway.
Sampson really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Cote is trying to get back to half guard.
Sampson trying to control the action but Cote is working from the bottom.
Sampson will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Cote can't do much from the bottom here.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Sampson trying to control the position but Cote is working away.
Cote is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Sampson winds up and cracks Cote with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Sampson wants to pass the guard but Cote is defending well.

Sampson is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Cote defends it well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Cote tries to roll over but Sampson keeps him under control.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Cote is trying to stand.
Cote tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Sampson has advanced to mount. Uh oh.
Cote is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Sampson looking to control but Cote is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Patrick Cote dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Cote dives in for a single leg takedown but Sampson sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Cote breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Cote scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Sampson is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
Sampson gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Sampson is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Cote's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Cote's back!
Patrick Cote has got the better of the ground game so far.
Sampson is looking to control Cote but Cote is wriggling around and keeping busy.
Cote can't escape the position.

Sampson is working the back position looking for the choke. Oh, he's slid into an armbar! Beautiful transition and Cote taps out! Fantastic Jiu Jitsu from Sampson.
