Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Chase (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marcus Setta (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, John Chase! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Marcus Setta! The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Paul Gruel and Chris Saunders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Chase takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
It looks like John Chase has been cut. Chase clinches with his opponent.
Setta tries to land knees in the clinch but Chase avoids the damage to the body. Chase takes a knee right on the jaw!
Chase misses with a hook to the ribs.
Setta tries to land a knee to the head but Chase blocks with his arms.
Chase throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Setta blocks it with crossed arms. Setta misses with a knee strike.
Setta putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Chase in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body. Chase could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Chase fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Chase is trying to break free. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Setta using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Chase has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Chase wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Setta tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Chase avoids it. With the two fighters working up against the cage, Setta just misses with a elbow thrown towards Chase's brow. Chase managing to block the knees to the body from Setta.

That's one minute gone in the round. Setta pushes Chase back against the cage and unloads with a body punch. Chase is trying to stall.
Chase keeps control of Setta as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Chase manages to pull guard.
Chase might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Chase will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

Chase working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Setta. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Chase holds on and takes a little breather. Setta looking to pass the guard. Setta sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Chase's guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Setta is keen to just control but Chase is a slippery customer. Chase wants to control but Setta is keeping busy and won't allow it. Setta not landing any meaningful shots this time. Chase regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Setta. Setta has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Chase trying to keep a closed guard but Setta is proving a slippery customer.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Chase holds on and takes a little breather. Setta wants to control from the top but Chase keeps moving. Setta passes Chase's left leg - he's now in half guard. Chase wants to get back to his feet.

Setta thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Setta not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Setta tries to stand and escape but Chase is controlling the position. Setta wants to take a breather but Chase is having none of it. Setta seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Setta throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Setta punching from mount but Chase doing a good job of avoiding damage. Chase tries to lock up and control but Setta gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Chase is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.

Chase is desperately trying to improve his position but Setta has a good base and remains in mount. Chase wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Setta.
Setta goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Chase turns into him and now he's in Setta's guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Setta controls Chase momentarily but Chase frees himself. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Marcus Setta dominated that round. The cut man is working on John Chase's cut. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Setta moves in looking to clinch but Chase pushes him off. Setta lands a nice leg kick that just misses Chase's sensitive parts. Chase wants to clinch. Setta stuffs the takedown. Setta ducks under a wild hook from Chase. Setta tries to clinch but Chase moves out of range. Chase throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Setta's waist but Setta gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Chase off to one side. Chase tries to clinch there but Setta circles away.

That's one minute gone in the round. Setta throws a right and a left that Chase avoids nicely. John Chase seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Setta tries to bum rush Chase with a series of wild strikes but Chase uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Setta lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Horrible takedown by Setta or perhaps it was just good defense by Chase which made him look bad. Chase fails with a takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for John Chase. That's going to take a lot out of him. Setta misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Chase looks to clinch and Setta counters with an inside leg kick. Setta ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Chase dodges the punch combination from Setta.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Chase fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. The fight stays on the outside here - Chase looks like he's thinking about clinching though. A left lands for Setta. Chase goes for a double leg but Setta avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Setta continues to drive forward. Setta working some nice short punches in the clinch. Chase just leaning against Setta, taking a breather. Chase throws an elbow but it's blocked.

Chase shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Setta but Setta pushes him off and we're back to square one. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Chase. Chase stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Setta. Setta stalks Chase and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Chase's face. Chase staggers backwards, shaken. John Chase is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Setta ducks under a wild hook from Chase. Setta has managed to clinch.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Setta tries to score with a low kick but Chase moves his leg out of the way. Chase darts in looking for a takedown but Setta gets double underhooks and turns Chase into the cage. Setta misses with a knee strike.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Marcus Setta showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on John Chase's cut. That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!
Setta tries to clinch up. Setta throws a leg kick and Chase counters with a three punch combo that has Setta backing up. Setta nods at Chase to acknowledge the strikes. Chase shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Setta but Setta pushes him off and we're back to square one. Chase fails to land with a series of punches.

Setta defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Chase. Chase clinches. The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Setta. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Setta jumps guard but Chase turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Setta prevents the takedown attempt.

Setta tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Chase defends well and Setta ends up having to push Chase into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Chase lands a body shot. Setta will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Chase up against the cage. Setta tries to land a knee to the head but Chase blocks with his arms.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Setta has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Chase after a bit of a struggle. Setta with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head. Chase slows down the pace here.

Marcus Setta is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Chase wants a takedown.

Setta lands an elbow inside. Chase's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Setta throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Chase throws a looping overhand right but Setta ducks down to avoid it. John Chase has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Setta throws a right hand that Chase ducks under and follows up with a left that Chase also avoids with ease.
And that's the end of the fight! Marcus Setta comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Setta has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
