Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ferdinand Garrett!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Kevin Wien!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Paulsen Ambrosius and Saam Ante.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wien goes for a double leg but Garrett avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Garrett continues to drive forward.

Garrett is trying to break the clinch but Wien has him pressed against the cage.

Garrett ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Garrett no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Garrett really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Garrett on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Garrett tries to get out of the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Wien wants to get up but he can't break Garrett's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Kevin Wien has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Wien moves out of range of the body kick from Garrett.
Wien avoids the head kick by Garrett.

Wien tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Garrett defends well and Wien ends up having to push Garrett into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Wien is trying to force a seperation but Garrett has the dominant position.

Wien tries to pull guard but Garrett won't allow it.
Ferdinand Garrett has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kevin Wien.

Wien escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

and Garrett counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Wien's guard now.

Garrett will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Garrett controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Wien wants to clinch up but Garrett keeps it at a distance.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Garrett is pulling down on Wien's head. It's preventing any offense from Wien, at least for the moment.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Ferdinand Garrett wasn't doing enough on the ground.

Garrett shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Garrett was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Garrett is trying to get an arm triangle but Wien is defending well.
Garrett wants to lay and pray for a moment but Wien keeps working.

Garrett is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Wien has escaped the position, nice work there.
Wien takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ferdinand Garrett dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Garrett has managed to clinch.
Wien is looking to control Garrett's arms but Garrett gets an underhook and turns him. Now Wien has his back to the cage.

Wien pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Ferdinand Garrett is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Wien misses with a wild body shot.
Garrett tries to score a power double leg takedown but Wien sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Garrett somewhat.

Wien doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Garrett counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

Garrett decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Wien has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Garrett is working away from the top position though.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Wien is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Garrett winds up and cracks Wien with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Ground and pound from Garrett.
Garrett wants to get back to his feet.
Wien misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Garrett wants to stand but Wien has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
Wien is not content to let Garrett control the position.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Wien slaps away a takedown attempt from Garrett, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Wien dives in for a single leg takedown but Garrett sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Wien is fighting off a takedown attempt but Garrett is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Wien to the mat. Wien regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Garrett leaves Wien with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Wien shoots for a takedown but Garrett saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Wien shoots in for a takedown but Garrett shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Wien gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Excellent takedown into side control there by Garrett.

Wien seems a little lost for a moment, as Garrett dominates the positioning.

Garrett advances to full mount.
Wien wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.

You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.
Wien takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Garrett is not going to allow Wien to sit and survive in this position.
Garrett controls the action.
Wien tries to escape the position.

Garrett lands with a hammerfist to the side of Wien's head.
Wien trying to control the hands but Garrett won't let him.

Wien controlling the position well but he knows he's in a bad position.

Ferdinand Garrett overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
You can see the frustration on Wien's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Garrett just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.
Garrett scores with some strikes to the side of the head there. Good, points scoring shots.
Garrett lands a punch to the side of the head from the back.

Garrett lands a couple of good shots to his opponent's body and a final shot to the head. Good little attack there by Garrett.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Garrett is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish.

Well Garrett has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
