Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Chad Nazareth (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anthony Petruzelli (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Chad Nazareth! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Anthony Petruzelli! The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Hugh Johnson and Donatello Bradman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nazareth missing with a left hand there. Petruzelli was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Nazareth darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Petruzelli is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Nazareth pulls his head out easily. Petruzelli looks like he's trying to stand up.
Nazareth scoring with strikes to the body and head. Petruzelli is trying to stand up here but Nazareth is controlling him well. Nazareth is taking a breather. Petruzelli says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Petruzelli trying to hold on to Nazareth's head to control him but Nazareth postures up.
Petruzelli might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Nazareth kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
That's one minute gone in the round. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Nazareth in particular looking to stall. Nazareth prevents Petruzelli from improving his position. Nazareth is nestled in close to Petruzelli, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Nazareth uses his free foot to push down on Petruzelli's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Petruzelli. Nazareth tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Petruzelli tries to get back to half guard but can't. Nazareth with shots to the head and body - Petruzelli looks very uncomfortable down there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nazareth working Petruzelli over with strikes here. Nazareth fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Nazareth lands with some strikes. Petruzelli squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
Nazareth landing strikes from the mount and Petruzelli is in trouble! Nazareth sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Nazareth connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Petruzelli keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Nazareth looking to control and managing it successfully. Nazareth won't let Petruzelli get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Petruzelli tries to hold on but Nazareth postures up. Nazareth has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Petruzelli's face.

Nazareth sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Nazareth fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Nazareth has hold of Petruzelli's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Petruzelli manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Petruzelli sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. Petruzelli is trying to stand back up but Nazareth is controlling him
Nazareth takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Nazareth trying to pass the guard but Petruzelli defending well. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Chad Nazareth dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Nazareth digs a good body shot into Petruzelli's ribs. Nazareth fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Nazareth takes a swing at Petruzelli's ribcage but misses. Nice sprawl there from Petruzelli as Nazareth shoots in. Nazareth tries for a takedown but Petruzelli sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Chad Nazareth. That's going to take a lot out of him. Petruzelli tries to clinch there but Nazareth circles away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Nazareth lands a jab to the nose. Petruzelli walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Nazareth closes this distance looking for a takedown but Petruzelli circles away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nazareth lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Petruzelli looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Nazareth shoots for a double leg takedown but Petruzelli sprawls well. He's pushed Nazareth's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Nazareth circles away from the clinch attempt.
Petruzelli misses with a kick to the body.
Petruzelli throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Nazareth looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Petruzelli gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Nazareth has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nazareth working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Petruzelli's head. Nazareth wants to control from the top but Petruzelli keeps moving. Petruzelli trying to keep a closed guard but Nazareth is proving a slippery customer.
Nazareth trying to control the position from guard on top but Petruzelli is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Nazareth is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Petruzelli throws his legs up looking for a submission but Nazareth uses it to pass to side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nazareth controlling the position from side mount. Petruzelli wants to get back to his feet but Nazareth drags him back down. Nazareth landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. Nazareth is staying tight to Petruzelli's torso, preventing him from escaping. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Petruzelli tries to bench press Nazareth off him but Nazareth keeps the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Petruzelli throws a couple of punches but he's in a bad position and they don't land. Nazareth lands a decent elbow from side control. Nazareth wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Petruzelli, who protects the arm well.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Petruzelli gets back to half guard. Petruzelli is trying to control but can't.
Nazareth looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Petruzelli has hold of Nazareth's hands but Nazareth slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Chad Nazareth dominated that second round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!
Nazareth shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Nazareth stops Petruzelli from standing up. Nazareth trying to control but Petruzelli is working from the bottom. Nazareth lands a couple of elbows. Nazareth trying to control the position from guard on top but Petruzelli is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Petruzelli is looking to stand up but Nazareth isn't so interested in that idea. Nazareth content to stall in guard here. Petruzelli keeping moving, preventing Nazareth from controlling successfully.
That's one minute gone in the round. Petruzelli working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Nazareth doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Nazareth manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Petruzelli takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Nazareth shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Nazareth showed some decent athleticism there. Petruzelli works his way to full guard. Good work. Nazareth sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Petruzelli's guard. Nazareth with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Chad Nazareth overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Petruzelli kicks off Nazareth and gets to his feet. No luck for Nazareth with that takedown attempt. Nazareth thows a body shot but no joy. Nazareth drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Nazareth is putting a hurting on Petruzelli here, landing some big shots from side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Petruzelli is looking to reverse the position. Petruzelli is trying to control Nazareth's posture but Nazareth avoids it. Nazareth looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Nazareth working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Nazareth lands a nice forearm strike. Petruzelli trying to remain calm as Nazareth controls from the top position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Petruzelli looks to move to half guard but instead Nazareth has passed into mount! Damn! Anthony Petruzelli has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Nazareth lands a big elbow. Petruzelli squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
Nazareth landing strikes from the mount. Petruzelli tries to buck Nazareth off but he can't manage it. Nazareth landing punches. Nazareth lands a nice shot to the head. Nazareth looking to control and managing it successfully. Nazareth lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Petruzelli hang on?
And that's the end of the fight! Chad Nazareth showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Nazareth, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
