Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Hugo Stiglitz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jeff Wood (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stiglitz comes to the ring accompanied by Ecstasy of Gold. Jeff Wood struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 171.9lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. Jeff Wood will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Hugo Stiglitz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jeff Wood!
The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Josh West and Micheangelo Fripello.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wood throws a series of punches but Stiglitz moves out of range.

Stiglitz moves into the clinch successfully.
Stiglitz tries to pull guard but Wood forces him back to his feet, against the ropes.

Stiglitz is trying to trip Wood. He has hold of a leg but Wood is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Stiglitz persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Stiglitz wants to control from the top but Wood keeps moving.
Wood looking for a sweep. Not yet Wood, not yet.
Stiglitz stands and throws Wood's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Wood is not content to let Stiglitz control the position.

Stiglitz throws a strike but Wood avoids it easily and moves to full guard.

Wood looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Stiglitz has picked Wood up and slammed him! Wood can't keep hold of the triangle and Stiglitz manages to pass to side control!

Wood bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Stiglitz looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Stiglitz has his foot on Wood's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Wood works his way back into a safe position though.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Wood got a little sloppy there for a moment and Stiglitz has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Wood has managed to get both his arms back between Stiglitz's legs - danger averted.

Stiglitz is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Wood defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

Stiglitz bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Wood's guard.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Stiglitz, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
