Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Brandon Duscaw (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steve Hershey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Duscaw's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, "I am the Walrus" by The Beatles. Hershey has chosen Aztechnical as his entrance music. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 9 - 0, fighting out of London, Brandon Duscaw!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Steve Hershey!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Duscaw throws a predictable looking body shot

and Hershey counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Duscaw!
Hershey misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
Hershey wants to stand but Duscaw is controlling his arm.
Duscaw sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

Hershey is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Duscaw is defending against the submission attempts here by Hershey.
Duscaw is looking to improve his position.

Hershey thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Duscaw's head.
Hershey is looking to take a break and control but Duscaw is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Hershey slips a nice elbow through Duscaw's hands, connecting with Duscaw's forehead.

Hershey is trying to work for a kimura but Duscaw is defending well.

Duscaw is trying to control but can't.
The fighters are battling for position here. Duscaw manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Duscaw wants to sweep here but Hershey controlling him for the moment.
Hershey has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Duscaw is proving hard to escape from.

Hershey throws a strike but Duscaw rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Duscaw trying to control but Hershey is working from the bottom.
Duscaw throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Hershey works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Hershey is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Duscaw has gone for a leg lock! Hershey slips out almost immediately though and dives into Duscaw's guard.

Hershey wants to stand and escape but instead Duscaw has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Duscaw not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Duscaw trying to control the position from guard on top but Hershey is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Hershey utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Hershey controls Duscaw momentarily but Duscaw frees himself.
Duscaw throwing strikes but missing.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Steve Hershey dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Duscaw lands a really nice looking cross but Hershey seems unphased.
Duscaw fails to land with a series of punches.
Duscaw thows a left - swing and a miss!
Duscaw fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Hershey looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Hershey has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Duscaw finds it's way round the side to connect with Hershey's head.
Duscaw misses with a lunging right hand
and Hershey makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Duscaw is defended easily by Hershey.
Duscaw throws a right and a left that Hershey avoids nicely.
Hershey throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Duscaw misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Hershey.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Duscaw will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
That kick from Hershey tenderised Duscaw's leg. Duscaw is trying to keep his angry face on.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Nice takedown defense from Hershey. No joy for Duscaw on that attempt.
Duscaw throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Hershey.

A big head kick from Hershey and Duscaw is sent sprawling to the canvas!


It looks like Brandon Duscaw has been cut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Hershey trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Hershey accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Hershey pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Duscaw is keeping the position for now.

Duscaw is looking to sweep but instead, Hershey has passed into half guard.

Hershey passes to side control.
We've been hearing good reports from Duscaw's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
Duscaw managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Hershey.

Hershey wants to lay and pray for a moment but Duscaw keeps working.
Duscaw takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.

Hershey misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Hershey throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Duscaw tries to buck Hershey off but Hershey is having none of it.
Duscaw regains half guard.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Steve Hershey hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
A head kick misses from Hershey.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Steve Hershey showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The cut man is working on Brandon Duscaw's cut.
That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!


Duscaw shoots for a double leg takedown but Hershey sprawls well. He's pushed Duscaw's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Duscaw chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Hershey can pounce on him.
Nice body kick from Hershey.
Brandon Duscaw seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Hershey connects with a vicious head kick that knocks Duscaw to the floor! Hershey dives in looking for the finish!


Duscaw is rocked!


Brandon Duscaw's cut is getting worse.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Hershey throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Oh Duscaw is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Hershey throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Hershey wants to free his trapped foot but Duscaw is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Hershey is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Duscaw is just riding it out for now. Hershey eventually gives up the hold.

Hershey is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Duscaw defends it well.
Duscaw seems to have got his legs back now.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Duscaw keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Hershey is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Duscaw!
Duscaw avoids a strike by Hershey and manages to complete a very nice reversal in the process, to end up in Hershey's guard! Fantastic escape!
Hershey tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Hershey is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Duscaw will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Duscaw throws a big elbow that misses.
Duscaw is looking to advance position but Hershey has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!
Hershey looking to ground and pound but Duscaw is blocking nicely.
Duscaw manages to regain half guard. Good work.
Hershey landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Duscaw wants to improve his position but Hershey is controlling well.

Duscaw is trying to control but can't.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hershey seems to be looking for submissions.
Hershey is looking to pass Duscaw's guard but actually Duscaw recovers to full guard.
Hershey postures up in Duscaw's guard and throws a big left but Duscaw blocks it.
Steve Hershey has got the better of the ground game so far.

Hershey stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Duscaw swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Hershey passes into half guard.
Steve Hershey is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Hershey tries to pass the half guard into mount. Duscaw knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Duscaw is trying to get back to full guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
Steve Hershey comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Hershey has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
