PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nisse Indian (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and mr Benn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Indian might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Down - Hail The Leaf. mr Benn is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Nisse Indian!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, mr Benn!
The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Daniel Blasius and Patrick Alders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Benn shoots in looking for a takedown but Indian manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Benn's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Benn doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Indian counters with a nice uppercut.
Benn fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Nisse Indian has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of mr Benn.
Benn avoids the head kick by Indian.
Indian checks a leg kick.
Indian scores with a head kick.
Indian pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Benn back to the cage. Indian follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Benn throws a low kick, looking for Indian's leg but Indian calmly moves out of range.
Indian tries to clinch up.
Nice defenses there by Indian.
No joy there for Benn, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Benn fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Indian manages to avoid it.
A left lands for Indian.
Benn tries to score a power double leg takedown but Indian sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Benn somewhat.
A slapping leg kick lands for Benn.

That's one minute gone in the round.
A nice inside leg kick there by Indian. That's going to slow Benn down.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Benn is defended easily by Indian.
Indian checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Benn darts in looking for a takedown but Indian gets double underhooks and turns Benn into the cage.

Benn breaks from the clinch.
Benn fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Indian wants to clinch up but Benn keeps it at a distance.
Benn misses with a low kick.
Indian lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Indian lands a head kick!
Indian lands with a kick to the temple. Benn shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"

Benn gets the takedown into side control.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Benn working away.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Indian being controlled for a moment.

Benn goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Indian rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Benn's guard! Nice work there by Indian!
Indian stays in close to Benn's body and controls the position.
Benn is trying to keep Indian in close.
Benn throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Indian has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Indian lands a couple of decent looking shots.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Indian loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Benn working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Indian.
Indian seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Indian wants to control from the top but Benn keeps moving.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Indian scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Benn controls Indian momentarily but Indian frees himself.
Indian lands a couple of decent looking shots.

Benn is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Indian frees his head nicely. Oh but Benn has switched to an armbar! Indian is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Armbar). mr Benn!
