Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Cameron Hobbs! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Master Miyagi! The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Frank Dennis and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hobbs goes for a double leg but Miyagi avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Miyagi continues to drive forward. Miyagi escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Miyagi lands a nice shot to the body.
Miyagi tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Miyagi changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Hobbs looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Hobbs is trying to control Miyagi's posture but Miyagi avoids it. Miyagi tries to stand but Hobbs is controlling his head. Miyagi scores with punches from side control. Hobbs gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Hobbs is trying to control but can't.
Hobbs slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hobbs is looking to stand up but Miyagi isn't so interested in that idea. Miyagi content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Miyagi trying to control but Hobbs is working from the bottom. Hobbs is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Miyagi has his hands clasped together but Hobbs extends and breaks Miyagi's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Hobbs.
