Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Edoja Mark! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mark Calloway! The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Stewart Dunkirk and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mark gets a takedown into half guard. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Mark passes to side control. Calloway dodges the ground and pound from Mark. Mark controlling from side mount. Mark wants to lay and pray for a moment but Calloway keeps working. Mark tries to move into full mount but can't pass Calloway's legs.
That's one minute gone in the round. Calloway struggling a bit here. Mark throws an elbow but Calloway slips to the side and avoids it well. Calloway wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! Calloway tries to improve position but can't. The strikes coming from Mark are missing the target in this wave of attacks. Calloway is not content to let Mark control the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Calloway is looking to regain half guard here but Mark keeps moving and retains side control. Mark is trying to ground and pound but Calloway uses the momentary lack of control by Mark to regain half guard. Mark stands up out of the half guard. Calloway tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Mark paws at him with a jab and circles away. Calloway shoots in for a double leg but Mark sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Calloway tries to score a power double leg takedown but Mark sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Calloway somewhat. Mark scores with a takedown into Calloway's guard. Mark looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio. Mark passes Calloway's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Well, if Mark is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Mark is working for a kimura but Calloway is defending it quite comfortably.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Mark content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Mark decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet. Mark Calloway seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Calloway looking for a takedown here - he's got it. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Mark controls Calloway momentarily but Calloway frees himself. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Edoja Mark dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Mark lands an overhand right. Mark takes the fight into the clinch. Calloway is trying to break the clinch but Mark has him pressed against the cage. Mark misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Calloway.
Mark is looking to break free of the clinch but Calloway has double underhooks. Mark wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Calloway has him pressed against the cage. Mark tries to break the clinch but Calloway is controlling the position. Mark has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Calloway clear over his head and slammed him to the mat! Mark has good solid back control here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Calloway rolls, trying to escape but Mark keeps control of the position.
Calloway is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Mark.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Good control from Mark. Mark is looking for the choke from the back position but Calloway is controlling his hands well. Calloway looking very determined here, making life difficult for Mark.
Mark throwing wild punches that miss their target. Calloway wants to control his opponent's hands but Mark gets his hands free. Mark just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.
Mark has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Calloway has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mark is riding his opponent, not letting Calloway buck him off. Mark punches the canvas rather than the man. Calloway has his hands over his head blocking the strikes from Mark. Mark is persistently looking for the submission but Calloway is defending it well.
Mark misses with an elbow to the head. Calloway really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mark. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mark controlling from the back. Mark misses with a punch to the head. Calloway trying to control the hands but Mark won't let him. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Edoja Mark dominated that second round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!
Calloway tries to clinch there but Mark circles away.
Calloway shoots for a takedown but Mark saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Calloway shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Calloway avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Calloway lands a couple of digs. Calloway drops back, looking for a kneebar! Mark looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Mark looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Mark! Calloway gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Calloway takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mark escapes and gets back to his feet. Mark changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Calloway looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Calloway is trying to control Mark's posture but Mark avoids it. Calloway pushes Mark away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Mark gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. You can see the frustration on Calloway's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Mark wants to lay and pray for a moment but Calloway keeps working.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Calloway dodges the ground and pound from Mark. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
We're going to have a standup here because Edoja Mark wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Calloway tries to clinch up but Mark circles away and keeps his distance. Mark Calloway has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Mark drives through and clinches with Calloway against the cage.
This has been an exciting period of action! Calloway keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Mark's efforts to push away. Calloway is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Mark to keep the fight standing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mark has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Calloway regains guard immediately. Mark controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Calloway wants to stand up but Mark is controlling him. Calloway keeping full guard, as Mark tries to pass. Mark drops back looking for a leg! Calloway is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Calloway manages to kick Mark off! Mark jumps back into Calloway's guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mark trying to control but Calloway is working from the bottom. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Edoja Mark wasn't doing enough on the ground. Calloway throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Mark tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Calloway is in Mark's guard. Mark bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Calloway's guard. Edoja Mark is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. This has been an exciting period of action! Calloway is looking for a triangle here but Mark uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Edoja Mark. Well Mark has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win...
