Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Brett Barr!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Alfes Turners!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Paul Tew and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Barr looking for a takedown here - he's got it.

Barr got a little sloppy there for a moment and Turners has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Barr has managed to get both his arms back between Turners's legs - danger averted.

Barr stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Turners swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Our spies down at at Cozad MMA London inform us that Turners has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Brett Barr.

Barr is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Turners is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Turners has the hand control, trying to stop the rear naked choke.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Turners is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Barr gets his way!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Barr looking to break Turners's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Turners remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Barr will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Barr slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
Barr seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Turners for as long as he can get away with.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Barr has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Turners has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Turners must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Barr is trying to trip Turners. He has hold of a leg but Turners is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Barr persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Turners looking for a guillotine here but Barr defends easily.
Barr distracts Turners with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Turners can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Barr controls the pace.
Barr wants to stand but Turners has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Barr stays in close to Turners's body and controls the position.
Turners not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Barr is pushing down on Turners's leg trying to pass to half guard. Turners is fighting to maintain full guard but Barr has managed to sneak the leg through.
Barr tries to stand but can't do so whilst Turners controls his leg.
Barr seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Barr drops an elbow to the side of Turners's head.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
