Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Chester Calderon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tiago Calixto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Calixto comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Wanted Dead or Alive kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Tiago Calixto is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Chester Calderon! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tiago Calixto! The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Joseph Jones and Dean Styles.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Calderon has taken the fight to the clinch.
Calderon is defending well against a takedown attempt. Calixto changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Calderon fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Calixto shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Chester Calderon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tiago Calixto. Calderon drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Calderon grinds an elbow into Calixto's temple. Calderon trying to control the position but Calixto is working away. Calixto is looking for a sweep. A lull in the action here as Calderon stalls from top position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Calderon tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily. Calderon controls the position.
We're going to have a standup here because Chester Calderon wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Calderon clinches with his opponent.
Calderon looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Calixto is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage. Calixto is trying to break free.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Calderon manages to break the clinch.
Calixto is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Calderon closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Calderon wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Calixto, who protects the arm well. Calixto can't do much from the bottom here. Calderon decides to stand up, so the ref orders Calixto to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Calderon doesn't manage to clinch there - Calixto circles away.
Calixto with a poor takedown and Calderon counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Calixto avoiding damage as Calderon throws knees to the body.
Calderon blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Calixto wants to take the fight to the mat but Calderon manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. Calderon works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. Calderon controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Calixto looks winded! The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Calderon passes Calixto's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Calderon is working for a kimura but Calixto is defending it quite comfortably.
Calixto wants to improve his position but Calderon is controlling well.
Calderon slows the pace down in half guard. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Calderon wants to stand up but Calixto is controlling the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Chester Calderon dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Calderon changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Calixto tries to avoid it but Calderon manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Calixto to the ground. Calixto escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Calixto tries to clinch there but Calderon circles away.
Calderon tries to close the distance and clinch but Calixto swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Calixto is defended easily by Calderon. Calixto tries to clinch up but Calderon circles away and keeps his distance. Calixto fails with the takedown. Calixto fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Chester Calderon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tiago Calixto. Calderon closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Calderon wants to stand but Calixto is controlling his arm. Calixto is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Calderon scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Calixto to see if he's OK. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Calderon tries to stand but Calixto is controlling his head. Calderon wants to lay and pray for a moment but Calixto keeps working. Calderon tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Calderon has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Calderon tries to advance to mount but Calixto denies him.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Calderon decides to stand up, so the ref orders Calixto to his feet. Tiago Calixto seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Calixto shoots for a double leg takedown but Calderon sprawls well. He's pushed Calixto's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Calixto with a poor takedown and Calderon moves into the clinch. Calderon has Calixto pressed against the cage, preventing Calixto from circling away and getting back to striking at range. A left hand lands to the body for Calderon.
Calixto has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Calderon throws an elbow but it's blocked.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Calderon sitting in guard here, content to control. Calixto tries to land a sweep but no joy. Chester Calderon overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Calderon showing good wrestling skills to control the position. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Calderon tries to free his leg and advance position but Calixto is retaining full guard.

Calderon really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Calderon is controlling Calixto's posture. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Calderon not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Calderon is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Calixto tries to get back to half guard but can't. Calixto takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Calderon staying calm. Calderon stands up and beckons Calixto to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Calixto misses with a takedown and Calderon counters with a takedown into side control. This has been an exciting period of action! Calderon wants to stand but Calixto has his arm trapped. Calderon advances to full mount. Calderon wants to finish this one by submission but Calixto is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Calderon.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Calderon controlling the pace for now. Calderon jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Calixto manages to avoid the submission attempt. Calixto seems a little lost for a moment, as Calderon dominates the positioning.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Calixto is trying to buck Calderon off. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
And that's the end of the fight! Chester Calderon showed his dominance in that final round. Well Calderon has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
