Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Harry Davies (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Josh Berzins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Harry Davies!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Josh Berzins!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Donald Grub and Phil Schofield.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Berzins shoots in and gets a takedown into Davies's guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Berzins pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Davies is keeping the position for now.

Davies is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Berzins is aware though and is defending well.

Davies escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Berzins gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Berzins is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Davies looking for subs off his back but Berzins has passed one foot through into half guard.

Berzins is looking for a kimura but Davies is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Berzins to get the leverage.

Davies actively working from the bottom here.
Davies is trying to maintain the position but Berzins is very close to passing his half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Berzins is trying to work for a kimura but Davies is defending well.

Berzins is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Davies doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Berzins.

Berzins looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Davies is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Berzins pulls his head out easily.

Berzins works his foot free and advances to mount.

Berzins jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Davies is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Davies and Berzins has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Berzins takes a little break here. Davies wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
Davies sneaks back into half guard.

Davies actively working from the bottom here.
Berzins tries to pass the half guard into mount. Davies knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Berzins is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Davies doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Berzins.
Berzins uses his free foot to push down on Davies's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Davies.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Berzins prevents Davies from getting the reversal.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Davies shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Davies throws an elbow that misses. Berzins uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Davies's guard. Nice move by Berzins!

Berzins got a little sloppy there for a moment and Davies has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Berzins has managed to get both his arms back between Davies's legs - danger averted.

Davies is looking for a triangle here but Berzins uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Davies tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Berzins wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Berzins wants to control but Davies is keeping him busy.

Berzins is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Davies has escaped the position, nice work there.

Davies is looking for a sweep.

Berzins tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Berzins has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Berzins looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Berzins thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Davies gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.

Berzins wants to take a breather but Davies is having none of it.
Berzins not doing much here.
Davies flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Berzins works his foot free and advances to mount.

Berzins working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Berzins fails to move to back control.

Berzins goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Davies is on top in guard.
Josh Berzins has got the better of the ground game so far.

Berzins looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Davies has picked Berzins up and slammed him! Berzins can't keep hold of the triangle and Davies manages to pass to side control!

Berzins is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Davies off and has taken his back!

Davies defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Berzins's arms.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Davies wants to escape the position.

Davies is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Josh Berzins showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!



Davies feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Davies postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Berzins has his foot on Davies's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Davies works his way back into a safe position though.
Berzins is looking to sweep but instead, Davies has passed into half guard.
Berzins is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Davies's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Davies's back!
I really don't envy Davies right now.
Davies wants to get back to his feet.

You can see the frustration on Davies's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Berzins is persistently looking for the submission but Davies is defending it well.
Davies rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.

Berzins is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Davies is looking for a sweep. Berzins is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Berzins is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Davies!

Berzins takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Davies prevents Berzins from taking his back.
Davies is wriggling around trying to escape.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Berzins working for a submission but Davies is keeping him at bay.
Davies is looking to get to half guard.

Berzins is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Davies to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Davies shrugs it off.

Berzins wants to control the pace but Davies is squirming around nicely.

Berzins looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

Berzins jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Davies manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Davies throws a couple of strikes even though he's not really in a good position to do so.

Davies is not content to let Berzins control the position.
Davies manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Davies is looking to improve his position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Berzins is working for a submission of some sort.
Harry Davies has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Berzins is taking a breather. Davies says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

And that's the end of the fight!
Josh Berzins comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Berzins winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
