Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gulzar Duncan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Maurits Arce (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Gulzar Duncan! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Maurits Arce! The judges for this bout are William Peck, Trevor Gratis and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Arce gets tackled into the cage by Duncan. Duncan maintains the clinch. Duncan lands a shoulder strike. Arce wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Duncan slowing the pace effectively. Duncan has picked Arce up - he's going for a ride! Duncan dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Duncan looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Arce looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Duncan is trying to control. Arce wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Arce looking for submissions off his back. Duncan is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Arce still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Arce has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work! A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Duncan tries to improve position but can't. Arce looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Duncan is avoiding damage well.
Arce in side control, just content to control the action for now. Duncan is trying to get back to half guard. Arce working away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. Duncan tries to bench press Arce off him but Arce keeps the position. Arce is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position. Arce wants to stand but Duncan is controlling his arm. Duncan is looking for a sweep. You can see the frustration on Duncan's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Arce is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position. Duncan looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Duncan moves into the clinch.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A short right hand to the side of the head by Duncan. Duncan tries to circle away but Arce has him pinned against the cage. Duncan is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Arce is keeping busy. Duncan is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace. Arce wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Duncan has him pressed against the cage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Arce wants the takedown. Duncan is fighting it off but Arce persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Duncan's guard against the cage. Arce controlling from the top position. Duncan looking to control.
Arce sitting in guard, not really doing much. Duncan punching from the bottom. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Arce controls from within his opponent's guard.
Maurits Arce has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Duncan moves into range and clinches up with Arce. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Gulzar Duncan will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Arce tries to keep at a distance but Duncan has taken the fight into the clinch. Duncan misses with a body punch.
Arce decides to pull guard. Arce controlling the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Duncan with a nice head shot there. Arce working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Duncan doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Duncan manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Duncan being controlled here momentarily. Arce is trying to keep Duncan in close.
That's one minute gone in the round. Duncan passes into half guard. Maurits Arce has got the better of the ground game so far. Duncan wants to lay and pray for a moment but Arce keeps working. We've been informed that Arce has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight. Arce is working on a guillotine. He's managed to get to full guard and he's really squeezing tight! Duncan is tapping! Great win for Arce!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:32 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Maurits Arce! Maurits Arce bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
