Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

7 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Juan Gonzalez!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dillard manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Gonzalez on his heels. He'll look to pass Gonzalez's guard now, I'm sure.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Dillard trying to control the position from guard on top but Gonzalez is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Gonzalez thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Dillard stands up from Gonzalez's guard - Dillard perhaps looking for a knockout.
Gonzalez keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Dillard dives in for a single leg takedown but Gonzalez sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Dillard has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Gonzalez is trying to keep an underhook but Dillard manages to get the takedown into half guard.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Dillard is trying to control. Gonzalez wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Dillard is working for a kimura but Gonzalez is defending it quite comfortably.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Dillard is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Gonzalez wants to get back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Gonzalez is trying to stand up here but Dillard is controlling him well.
Dillard is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Gonzalez kicks Dillard off and gets back to his feet.
Gonzalez closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Dillard quickly recovers to half guard.
Gonzalez is keen to just control but Dillard is a slippery customer.
Gonzalez is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Gonzalez won't let Dillard get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.
Dillard is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Gonzalez misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

Gonzalez tries to control but Dillard wriggling away.
Dillard tries to hold on but Gonzalez postures up.
Gonzalez prevents Dillard from getting the reversal.
Dillard takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

Gonzalez trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Gonzalez thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
Gonzalez lands a couple of good shots and Dillard has given up his back, trying to escape the position!

Gonzalez trying to secure his dominant position for a moment - making sure Dillard doesn't escape.
Gonzalez connects with a series of strikes and the referee is calling for Dillard to escape the position.

The referee is taking a good look at Dillard as he is on the wrong end of some big shots from Gonzalez!

Gonzalez is trying to stick to Dillard's back but Dillard is turning into Gonzalez. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Gonzalez's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Dillard.
Gonzalez wriggles free and stands up.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Dillard gets a takedown into half guard.
Dillard wants to work for an arm triangle but Gonzalez is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Dillard is looking to take a break and control but Gonzalez is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Dillard is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Gonzalez sees it coming and defends easily.
Dillard seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Gonzalez does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Jose Dillard will probably get the nod.

Gonzalez tries to close the distance and clinch but Dillard swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Dillard misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Dillard shoots in for a double leg but Gonzalez sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Gonzalez keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Dillard gets caught napping as Gonzalez dives in and scores a takedown. Dillard manages to retain guard.
Gonzalez lying in Dillard's guard like a wet fish here, stalling away. Dillard decides he's had enough of all that nonsense - he escapes his hips and locks up an armbar! Wow, that was slick! Gonzalez taps! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!

In his post fight interview, Jose Dillard started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
