Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Normand Chen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Beast Cobain!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Chris Saunders and Micheangelo Fripello.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck for Chen with that takedown attempt.
Cobain throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Chen.
Chen moves into the clinch.
Cobain is trying to break the clinch but Chen is controlling him.
Chen looking for a takedown.
Chen pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Cobain dives in and grabs Chen's left leg, looking for a takedown. Chen pushes down on Cobain's head and hops out.
Cobain shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Cobain was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Chen can't do much from the bottom here.
Cobain working the strikes but Chen uses the opportunity to regain half guard.
Cobain throwing shots but Chen is blocking nicely.
Chen moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Cobain really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Chen. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Chen looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Cobain with a flurry of punches that miss.
Cobain throws a strike but Chen rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Cobain being controlled here, momentarily.
Chen stands and throws Cobain's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Chen trying to control the action but Cobain is working from the bottom.

Chen is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Cobain knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Chen tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.

Chen wants to stand but Cobain is controlling his arm.
A lull in the action here as Chen stalls from top position.
Cobain is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.

Chen wants to lay and pray for a moment but Cobain keeps working.
Chen tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Chen has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Chen scores with a couple of short elbows.
The ground and pound from Chen seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Chen wants to stand but Cobain has his arm trapped.
Cobain pushes Chen away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Chen gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Normand Chen dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Cobain will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Cobain stuffs the takedown attempt from Chen. Chen gets slowly back to his feet.
Cobain throws a wild body kick that Chen sees coming a mile off.
Cobain displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.
It looks like Normand Chen has been cut.
Cobain misses with a wild combination.
Cobain tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Cobain is defended easily by Chen.
Cobain doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Chen counters by clinching up.
Cobain is breathing heavily.
Cobain slows down the pace here.

Cobain has picked Chen up - he's going for a ride! Cobain dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Chen wants to control but Cobain is keeping busy.
Chen is trying to stand up here but Cobain is controlling him well.

Cobain throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Chen looks like he's trying to stand up.

Chen is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Cobain's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Cobain's back!
Chen is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Cobain has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Chen has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Cobain taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Chen doesn't care though - he's delighted!
