Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Myers looks for a takedown but Spencer sprawls well. Myers shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Spencer pinned against the cage. Spencer gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Myers has a takedown stuffed. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Devin Myers. That's going to take a lot out of him. Myers tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Spencer swivels and escapes. Myers scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Spencer tries to improve position but can't. Spencer is trying to control Myers's posture but Myers avoids it. Spencer is looking for a sweep.
That's one minute gone in the round. Myers wants to control but Spencer is keeping him busy. Myers working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Spencer can't do much from the bottom here. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Myers goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Spencer has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Myers but great work by Spencer. Myers tries to improve position but can't. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. You can see the frustration on Myers's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Spencer remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Myers wants to control but Spencer postures up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Myers is working to avoid the ground and pound but Spencer connects with a decent elbow. You can see the frustration on Myers's face as Spencer controls the position. Myers is trying to control Spencer's posture but Spencer avoids it. Myers is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Spencer's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Myers looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Myers makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Myers.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Myers controls Spencer momentarily but Spencer frees himself. Spencer has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Myers to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Spencer is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Myers pulls down on the head and he's put Spencer to sleep! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Devin Myers! A relieved looking Devin Myers thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
