Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between McKenzie Porter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ruphus Duphus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ruphus Duphus has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, McKenzie Porter! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ruphus Duphus! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Porter throws a series of punches but Duphus moves out of range. Duphus thows a left - swing and a miss! Porter throws a right and a left that Duphus avoids nicely. Duphus stuns Porter with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Duphus looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Duphus feints and as Porter raises his hands in defense, Duphus changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Duphus pushing down on Porter's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Duphus content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Porter tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land. Porter might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Duphus landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Duphus wants to control but Porter is keeping him busy. We've been hearing good reports from Porter's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Porter is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Duphus is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Porter reverses the position - he's now on top in Duphus's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Duphus holds on and takes a little breather. Duphus keeping moving, preventing Porter from controlling successfully. Duphus pulls Porter in close to prevent any damage.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Ruphus Duphus was stalling too much, according to the referee. Porter fails with an attempt to clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Porter throws a combination that misses and Duphus counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Duphus is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Duphus tries to free his leg and advance position but Porter is retaining full guard. Porter is trying to control the position from the bottom.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Duphus closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Porter's guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Duphus trying to control the position from guard on top but Porter is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Porter trying to control the position.

Duphus trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Duphus sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Porter's guard. Duphus is taking a breather. Porter says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. That's four minutes gone in the round. Duphus passes to full mount! Duphus working for a submission but Porter is keeping him at bay. Duphus sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Duphus working for a guillotine from mount but Porter is in no mood to give up. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Duphus cracks Porter with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Duphus pulls Porter in close to prevent any damage.

We're going to have a standup here because McKenzie Porter wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Porter gets a double leg takedown into Duphus's guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Porter is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Duphus's half guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Duphus is positioning himself well to prevent Porter advancing to mount.

Porter is stalling here. Duphus is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Porter seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Duphus has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. Porter tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Duphus wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Porter struggling a bit here. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Duphus is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Porter knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Duphus throwing shots but missing, from side control. Duphus trying to control the action but Porter is working from the bottom. Porter takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Duphus creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Ruphus Duphus showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Duphus pushes Porter back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head. Duphus has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Duphus lands a hook that snaps the head of Porter backwards. Duphus lands a right hand. Porter jumps guard but Duphus turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Porter being controlled here, momentarily. Duphus passes into half guard. Duphus has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Duphus cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Duphus wants to control the pace but Porter is squirming around nicely. Porter on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Porter tries to get out of the position. Duphus controlling his opponent. Duphus working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Porter looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Duphus! Submission of the night perhaps?
