Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Simo Hayha (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jeffrey Timmermans (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hayha kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Harvester of Sorrow. Jeffrey Timmermans has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Simo Hayha!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jeffrey Timmermans!
The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Paul Aken and Albert Achterberg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Timmermans looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Timmermans changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Hayha looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Timmermans tries to clinch but Hayha moves out of range.
Timmermans tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Hayha manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Timmermans tries to close the distance and clinch but Hayha swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Jeffrey Timmermans seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Timmermans changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Hayha tries to avoid it but Timmermans manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Hayha to the ground. Hayha escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Simo Hayha has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jeffrey Timmermans.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Timmermans shoots in looking for a takedown. Hayha tries to sprawl out of it but Timmermans keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Hayha manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Timmermans is keen to just control but Hayha is a slippery customer.
Hayha pushes Timmermans off looking to stand but Timmermans dives back in and keeps control.
Hayha knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Timmermans on the ground.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Simo Hayha decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
