PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Cire Rouge (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Max Porter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rouge comes to the cage accompanied by Gene Kelly - Singing in the rain . Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Cire Rouge!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Max Porter!
The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Micheangelo Fripello and Chris Saunders.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rouge changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Porter tries to avoid it but Rouge manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Porter to the ground. Porter escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Rouge tries to clinch up but Porter circles away and keeps his distance.
Rouge misses with a takedown

and Porter counters with a nice double leg into guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Porter drops back looking for a leg! Rouge is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Rouge manages to kick Porter off! Porter jumps back into Rouge's guard.
Porter in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rouge pulls Porter in close to prevent any damage.
Rouge can't keep his opponent in guard - Porter advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Porter wants to work for an arm triangle but Rouge is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Rouge won't allow Porter to pass to mount.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Rouge is trying to maintain the position but Porter is very close to passing his half guard.

Porter is working for a kimura but Rouge is defending it quite comfortably.
Rouge trying to control but Porter postures up.
Porter is looking to stall here but Rouge recovers full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Porter sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Rouge's guard.

Porter is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Rouge defends it well.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Porter lands with a punch from half guard.

Porter is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Rouge is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:33 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Max Porter!
During a confident post fight interview, Max Porter thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
In defeat, Cire Rouge stepped up to the mic, saying 'Whatever, let me sing.'.
