Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Devin Miles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aries Ward (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Miles gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Miles tries to work over Ward's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

Miles gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Ward is not content to let Miles control the position.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Miles throws a series of punches but Ward avoids them all with ease.
Ward swats away the attempt to clinch by Miles.

Ward lands a left and a right that send Miles crashing to the mat, dazed. Ward thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Miles is rocked!

It looks like Devin Miles has been cut.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Ward dives in and grabs Miles's left leg, looking for a takedown. Miles pushes down on Ward's head and hops out.
Oh Miles is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Ward tried to score with a low kick but Miles checks it.
Miles circles away from the clinch attempt.
Miles avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Ward misses with a head kick.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Miles.
Ward tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Miles manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Horrible takedown by Ward or perhaps it was just good defense by Miles which made him look bad.

Miles rushes Ward and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Ward wants to get back to striking at distance but Miles won't allow it.

Miles breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Miles shoots in for a double leg but Ward sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Ward looks to land a body kick but Miles moved away.
Ward avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Ward shoots in looking for a takedown but Miles manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Ward's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Ward is defended easily by Miles.
Ward comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Ward dives in for a single leg takedown but Miles sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Ward has had enough of the clinch but Miles keeps him there for the moment.
Ward misses with a short punch on the inside.
Ward drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
A head punch on the inside from Ward fails to land.
Miles is trying to pull guard but Ward turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Miles wants to break free but Ward has control.

Ward changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Miles fights it off and pushes away nicely.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Aries Ward tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
