The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Some wild striking there from Soldier.
Soldier will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Inoke misses with a body shot.
No joy there for Soldier, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Inoke closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Soldier to the mat! Soldier manages to get full guard. Inoke stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Soldier swivels though and keeps the full guard. Inoke pushing down on Soldier's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Inoke is trying to work for a kimura but Soldier is defending well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Inoke scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Soldier misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Inoke seems to be looking for submissions.
Inoke is working for a kimura but Soldier is defending it quite comfortably.
Inoke wants to free his trapped foot but Soldier is holding on for dear life with his legs.
That's one minute gone in the round. Soldier wants to get back to full guard. Inoke is keen to just control but Soldier is a slippery customer. Inoke is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Inoke looks gassed! Inoke working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Soldier throws a half hearted mid kick. Soldier throws a right and a left that both miss. Inoke clinches up with Soldier and pushes him back against the cage. Inoke has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Soldier uses from the top position. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Inoke looking for a sweep. Not yet Inoke, not yet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Soldier loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Soldier distracts Inoke with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Soldier scoring with punches to the head and body. Inoke working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Soldier doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Soldier manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Soldier's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Inoke is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Inoke keeping full guard, as Soldier tries to pass. Inoke has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Soldier should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Inoke has tightened it up now! Soldier should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
