Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Matheus Vacchi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Christopher Tillman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Christopher Tillman! The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Daniel Cesar and Leandro Rodrigues.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tillman fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Vacchi manages to avoid it. Vacchi fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Tillman is out of range. Vacchi gets a double leg takedown into Tillman's guard. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Tillman working a defensive guard here.
Tillman pulls Vacchi in close to his closed guard and prevents Vacchi from doing any damage or advancing position. Vacchi controls from within his opponent's guard. Tillman keeping full guard, as Vacchi tries to pass. Tillman working a defensive guard here.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Christopher Tillman hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Tillman keeps the fight on the outside.
That's one minute gone in the round. Vacchi closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Tillman did well to prevent Vacchi getting side control. Vacchi is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Tillman makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Tillman. Vacchi has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Tillman wants to sweep here but Vacchi controlling him for the moment. Vacchi might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Vacchi has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Tillman is proving hard to escape from. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Tillman wants to sweep but no luck. Tillman has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Vacchi can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Tillman controls Vacchi momentarily but Vacchi frees himself. Vacchi controlling from the top position. Vacchi seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Tillman for as long as he can get away with. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
We're going to have a standup here because Matheus Vacchi wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Vacchi moves into range and clinches up with Tillman.

Vacchi controls Tillman momentarily but Tillman frees himself. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Tillman is looking to work some ground and pound but Vacchi has wrist control. Tillman thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Tillman throws a right and a left that Vacchi avoids nicely. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Matheus Vacchi dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Vacchi darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Vacchi is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Tillman defends it well. Matheus Vacchi overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Tillman has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Vacchi is working away from the top position though. Tillman looks like he's trying to stand up.
Tillman tries to roll over but Vacchi keeps him under control. Tillman tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Vacchi has advanced to mount. Uh oh.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tillman wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Vacchi.

Tillman is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Vacchi looking to control and managing it successfully. Tillman is looking to improve his position but Vacchi isn't that keen on the idea.

Tillman wants to control but Vacchi is having none of it. Vacchi is working for a guillotine from mount but Tillman frees his head quite easily.
Vacchi wants to finish this one by submission but Tillman is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Vacchi. Vacchi is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Tillman can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Tillman regains half guard. Tillman wants to control but Vacchi is keeping busy.

Let's see if he can advance position further. Vacchi wants to take a breather but Tillman is having none of it. Tillman tries to get to full guard but Vacchi has control of the leg. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Tillman wants to control but Vacchi is keeping busy.

Matheus Vacchi has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Vacchi closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Tillman to the mat! Tillman manages to get full guard. Tillman looking for a triangle here. Vacchi is fighting it but it looks tight! Tillman pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Vacchi is tapping out - this one is all over!
