Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Eiji Kawashima (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jake Tyler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tyler is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Yep. Eiji Kawashima could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Jake Tyler's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
28 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Eiji Kawashima! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
34 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jake Tyler! The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Paul Tew and Chris Edwards.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kawashima is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Kawashima works Tyler's body with a nice hook. Jab, jab by Tyler - just one landing. Kawashima slips under a jab from Tyler. Kawashima wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Tyler shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Kawashima pinned against the cage. Kawashima gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Kawashima dodges the punch combination from Tyler.
A nice leg kick lands there from Kawashima. Tyler throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Tyler keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kawashima tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Tyler paws at him with a jab and circles away. We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Tyler has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Tyler steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Kawashima. That one must have hurt. Tyler tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Kawashima defends well and Tyler ends up having to push Kawashima into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Tyler is working for takedown but Kawashima is calmly controlling the position for now. Eiji Kawashima has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jake Tyler. Kawashima pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Kawashima connects with a leg kick. Tyler looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Kawashima.

Tyler fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Kawashima lands with a slapping head kick. Kawashima lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Tyler drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Eiji Kawashima is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Kawashima fakes the leg kick and cracks Tyler in the body. Kawashima tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Tyler tries to clinch but Kawashima is having none of it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Tyler moves out of range of the body kick. Tyler scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Tyler scores with a jab to the head.

Tyler might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable. Tyler clinches with his opponent.

Tyler presses Kawashima against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot. Tyler tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Kawashima's elbow. Eiji Kawashima dominated that second round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Kawashima throws a low kick but Tyler moves out of range easily. Tyler lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Tyler. Kawashima lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. Tyler's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down. Kawashima manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.

And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Eiji Kawashima. I think Kawashima has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

I am the Champion so it doesn't matter, I beat the Champion Ricardo Gracie and made him tap.'.
