Tyler is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Yep. Eiji Kawashima could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Jake Tyler's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kawashima is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Tyler has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Tyler steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Kawashima. That one must have hurt.
Tyler tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Kawashima defends well and Tyler ends up having to push Kawashima into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Tyler lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Eiji Kawashima.

Jake Tyler spoke after the fight, saying 'Should have had my damn Title shot. I wasn't motivated for this fight much. I am the Champion so it doesn't matter, I beat the Champion Ricardo Gracie and made him tap.'.
