Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
23 - 11 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Caiaphas Caine! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
19 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Xiomar Halo! The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, William Gold and Sam Margolis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A head kick by Halo misses and Caine counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Halo's guard now. Caine trying to control but Halo is working from the bottom. Caine loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Caine sitting in guard, not really doing much. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Caine throws a big right hand that misses. Caine working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Halo utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Halo really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Caine. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Halo being controlled here, momentarily. That's one minute gone in the round. Caine is looking to work some ground and pound but Halo has wrist control. Caine slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Caine wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Halo, who protects the arm well. Caine working the ground and pound. That's two minutes gone in the round. Halo is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Caine's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Caine has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Caine is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Halo won't allow Caine to pass to mount. Caine is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Halo doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Caine.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Caine seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Halo is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
