Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Karl Denke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Seyran Zeynalabdinov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Denke comes to the cage accompanied by Runnin With The Devil. Zeynalabdinov has chosen Saku as his entrance music. Seyran Zeynalabdinov struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 186.5lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
33 - 13 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Karl Denke! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
21 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Seyran Zeynalabdinov! The judges for this bout are James Glass, Daniel Bishop and Phil Schofield.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Denke needs to keep his hands up - Zeynalabdinov had a free shot at his head there. Denke bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Zeynalabdinov on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Denke. Denke obviously looking to wear him down.
No joy there for Zeynalabdinov, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Zeynalabdinov's coach down at Rape Academy was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Zeynalabdinov's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Zeynalabdinov ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Zeynalabdinov checks a leg kick nicely. Denke throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Zeynalabdinov's waist but Zeynalabdinov gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Denke off to one side. Zeynalabdinov lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Denke throws a shot to the body.
Denke cracks Zeynalabdinov with an open hand slap. Denke tries to land a front kick but Zeynalabdinov steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Zeynalabdinov darts in looking for a takedown but Denke gets double underhooks and turns Zeynalabdinov into the cage. Zeynalabdinov looking to slow down the pace here. Denke gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Denke keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Zeynalabdinov's head. Zeynalabdinov keeping full guard, as Denke tries to pass. Denke has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Denke makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Zeynalabdinov has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Denke doesn't defend quickly enough and Zeynalabdinov has managed to lock this one up! Can Denke escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Zeynalabdinov on a fantastic submission victory.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:24 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Seyran Zeynalabdinov! A very excited looking Seyran Zeynalabdinov made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet.
