The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Laiveta throws the kick towards the body but Santos avoids it.
Good work by Santos as he checks the leg kick.
Laiveta has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Laiveta fakes the leg kick and cracks Santos in the body.

Laiveta throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Santos drops Laiveta with a beautiful combination! Laiveta stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Santos is looking for the KO!

It looks like Taite Laiveta has been cut.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Laiveta throws a head kick that Santos semi-blocks.
Oh Laiveta is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Santos has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Santos takes a kick to the side of the head.

Santos lands with a good body shot.
Laiveta seems to have got his legs back now.
Santos lands a big right hook! Laiveta looks hurt but is still standing! Santos lands a left jab and another right hook! This time Laiveta falls down and Santos dives in with a huge hammer fist! Laiveta's eyes roll back! The referee calls for the bell and Santos runs up the cage to celebrate with his fans!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:12 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Neymar Santos!

A less than humble Neymar Santos misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
