Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Pai Mei (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryu Shyoto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Pai Mei! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ryu Shyoto! The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Shigeki Sano and Yukihiro Yamamoto.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Shyoto throws a big shot that misses. Mei misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Shyoto gets a clinch. Mei wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Mei has Shyoto pressed up against the ropes and is working for takedown. Shyoto manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Mei wants to break the clinch but can't.
Shyoto tries a knee to the head but Mei blocks it.
Mei takes a knee right on the jaw!
Mei wants a takedown but no success here.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Pai Mei. That's going to take a lot out of him. Shyoto lands a knee to the body.
Mei wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Mei drags the fight down to the ground.
Shyoto wants to control from the top but Mei keeps moving. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Shyoto stands up over Mei, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Shyoto really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mei. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Shyoto avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Shyoto throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Mei works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Shyoto must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Mei is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Mei is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Shyoto connects with a couple of short punches.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mei looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Mei is breathing heavily. Shyoto distracts Mei with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Shyoto working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Mei preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Shyoto scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Shyoto chips away with some ground and pound. Shyoto pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Mei is keeping the position for now. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Mei is on top in guard.
Mei wants to control from the top but Shyoto keeps moving. Shyoto looking to hit a scissor sweep but Mei is one step ahead there. Mei stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Shyoto swivels though and keeps the full guard. Shyoto wants to sweep here but Mei controlling him for the moment.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Shyoto thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage. Mei trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Shyoto tries to strike from the bottom.
Mei trying to control the position from guard on top but Shyoto is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Shyoto scores with a hook. The fight moves into the clinch position. Mei tries to break the clinch but Shyoto is controlling the position. Shyoto lands a nice elbow. Shyoto using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Mei has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Mei is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the ropes. Shyoto tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Shyoto comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush. Shyoto lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!

Shyoto has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Mei regains guard immediately.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Shyoto looking to pass the guard. Mei is trying to keep Shyoto in close.
Shyoto trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Mei is looking to sinch up a triangle. Shyoto throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Mei's body to avoid the submission. Mei has instead reached around Shyoto's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Mei arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:42 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Pai Mei!
