Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Gichin Fames (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sean Conlon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Conlon has chosen The Warrior's Code by the Dropkick Murphy's as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Gichin Fames! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Sean Conlon! The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Yves DeLean and William Peck.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Fames connects with a jab. Conlon on the wrong end of a nice hook.
It looks like Sean Conlon has been cut. Conlon jabbing away but nothing is landing. That kick from Fames tenderised Conlon's leg. Conlon is trying to keep his angry face on. Fames throws a shot from downtown. Conlon moves away and avoids it. Conlon moves away from the strike by Fames. A clash of legs there as Conlon blocks the low kick. Fames shoots in looking for a takedown but Conlon manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Fames's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Fames attempts a low kick but it misses it's target. Fames looks for a takedown but Conlon sprawls well. Conlon throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Fames slips a straight right by Conlon. Conlon misses with a straight left. Conlon wants to slow Fames down by chopping away at his legs. No luck for Fames with that takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Gichin Fames. That's going to take a lot out of him. This has been an exciting period of action! Conlon scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. The strikes coming from Conlon are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
That's one minute gone in the round. Conlon in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. Conlon working the strikes but Fames uses the opportunity to regain half guard. Conlon trying to mount his opponent but Fames defends it. Conlon seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Fames does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Fames regains full guard. Nicely done. Fames working for a triangle but Conlon defends it easily.
Fames seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Conlon trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Fames throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Conlon is looking to work some ground and pound but Fames has wrist control. Fames is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Fames has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Conlon throws an elbow that misses. Fames uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Conlon's guard. Nice move by Fames! Fames drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Conlon dives on top into guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Fames is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Fames pushing down on Conlon's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Conlon is staying active underneath Fames, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Conlon is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Fames misses with a head shot. Conlon uses the momentum to regain guard. Fames trying to control but Conlon is working from the bottom. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Fames is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Conlon is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Fames's corner calls for a 1-2. Fames obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Fames throws the left hand but Conlon avoids the punch easily. Sean Conlon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Conlon wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Conlon walks into a jab. Fames moves forwards but Conlon connects with a nice, crisp jab. Nice takedown defense from Conlon. No joy for Fames on that attempt. A jab from Conlon misses. Conlon blocks a low kick nicely. The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Fames checks a leg kick. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Fames looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Fames does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Conlon lands a nice hook to Fames's body. Fames takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. A telegraphed right hand from Fames misses the target. Fames cracks the inside of Conlon's front leg. Gichin Fames is winning the standup battle so far. Fames connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Fames takes a jab right on the kisser.

Conlon throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Fames sees it coming and avoids it easily. Fames closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Conlon quickly recovers to half guard. Fames works his way into side control. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Fames throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Conlon works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure. Conlon is defending against the submission attempts here by Fames.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Fames is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Conlon is just riding it out for now. Fames eventually gives up the hold. Fames not landing any meaningful shots this time.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Conlon is refusing to be controlled, as Fames sits in half guard. Fames is actively looking for submissions here but good counter grappling here from Conlon as he works his way to full guard.

Gichin Fames is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Conlon bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. A jab from Conlon misses.
And that's the end of the fight! Sean Conlon comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Fames has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
