Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kettu Pentti! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jack Maggot! The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Gwen Towbar and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Maggot stuffs the takedown attempt from Pentti. Pentti gets slowly back to his feet. Maggot has managed to clinch.
Maggot breaks from the clinch.
Pentti shoots in for a takedown but Maggot shows good takedown defense. Jack Maggot seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Pentti takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Pentti keeps the fight on the outside. Pentti shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kettu Pentti. That's going to take a lot out of him. Maggot feints and as Pentti raises his hands in defense, Maggot changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Pentti is breathing heavily. Maggot decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Pentti, up you get! Pentti shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Maggot counters with a lovely straight right hand! Pentti doesn't succeed with the takedown and Maggot counters by clinching up. A nice left hand lands by Maggot.

Maggot breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Maggot decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Maggot content to control rather than advance. Nice strikes from Maggot there. Maggot with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Maggot is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Pentti has managed to free his arm - good work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Maggot missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Maggot content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Maggot stands up out of the half guard. Pentti swats away the attempt to clinch by Maggot. A solid leg kick lands there for Maggot.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Maggot has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Pentti clear over his head and slammed him to the mat! Maggot cracks Pentti with a big shot to body and one to the head - really punishing Pentti from the back mount here, looking to soften him up.
Maggot lands punches and elbows. Maggot is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

Maggot is looking to finish with some ground and pound! Pentti is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Maggot.
Maggot throwing wild punches that miss their target. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Maggot lands strikes to the head. Pentti is trapped and Maggot is scoring with shots to the head and body. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Maggot lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. A jab from Maggot finds it's way through Pentti's defenses. Maggot tries to clinch but Pentti is having none of it. Pentti takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Maggot scores with a jab to the body. Oooh a lovely combination from Maggot sends Pentti down but not out. Maggot dives into side control looking to finish.

It looks like Kettu Pentti has been cut. Maggot controls the position. Oh Pentti is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Maggot stands up and we're back to a striking position. Maggot closes the distance and clinches up with Pentti, looking for a takedown. Maggot pushes Pentti against the cage but Pentti circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Pentti seems to have got his legs back now. Maggot scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. This has been an exciting period of action! Pentti looks to move to half guard but instead Maggot has passed into mount! Damn!
That's one minute gone in the round. Maggot pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Maggot prevents Pentti from getting the reversal. Pentti is working hard here to advance position. Maggot controlling from mount. Maggot landing strikes, looking to finish! Maggot has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Maggot looking to control and managing it successfully. Pentti is in all sorts of trouble here.
Pentti is bucking up trying to escape but Maggot cracks him with another couple of good strikes. Maggot looking to finish Pentti with some ground and pound. This is bad for Pentti! That's three minutes gone in the round. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Maggot lands a big elbow. Pentti tries to get back to half guard but can't. Maggot sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Maggot with a couple of short strikes.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Pentti tries to reverse the position but Maggot maintains control. Maggot sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. BOOM! Maggot connects with a massive shot to the dome!

The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Maggot raining down shots from the mount! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jack Maggot showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Kettu Pentti's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!
Pentti tries for a takedown but Maggot circles away easily and Maggot counters with a left and a right that stings Pentti. Maggot clinches. Maggot is pressed up against the cage. Pentti has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Maggot down to the mat. Maggot avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Maggot shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Maggot was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Pentti is working to get back to half guard.
Maggot has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Maggot with a couple of short strikes. Maggot controlling the position easily from mount. Maggot scores with a couple of good head shots there.

That's one minute gone in the round. Maggot looking to isolate an arm here. Pentti doesn't see it coming and as Maggot extends the arm, he's forced to tap out! Nice submission by Maggot!
