Hendricks comes to the cage accompanied by Alab ng Puso-Abra. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Micheangelo Fripello and Josh West.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Hughes is defended easily by Hendricks.

Hendricks shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Hughes is trying to defend but Hendricks finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Hughes wants to get back to full guard but Hendricks has mounted him!

Hendricks tries to close the distance and clinch up but Hughes swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Hughes tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

The fight stays on the outside here - Hendricks looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Hendricks shoots for a double leg takedown but Hughes sprawls well. He's pushed Hendricks's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hendricks throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Hughes tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Hendricks is in Hughes's guard.
Hughes wants to sweep but no luck.
Hendricks is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Hughes tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Hendricks tries to stand but Hughes is controlling from the bottom.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Hendricks looks up at the clock and then as Hughes takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Hendricks smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
