Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Thiago Cunha and Alexandre Firmino.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carlson gets caught napping as Pereira dives in and scores a takedown. Carlson manages to retain guard.
Pereira keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Carlson's head.
Pereira is in close to Carlson's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Pereira thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Pereira trying to control but Carlson is working from the bottom.
Pereira stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Carlson swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Pereira forces his way into half guard.
Carlson might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Pereira thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Pereira passes to full mount!
Carlson could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Carlson is squirming around, avoiding Pereira's attempts to control the action.
That's one minute gone in the round.
The referee warns Carlson that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Pereira landing strikes from the mount.
Pereira is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Carlson can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

It looks like Scotty Carlson has been cut.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Oooooh, big shot lands for Pereira! Carlson is hurt baaadly! Pereira is firing away with more strikes - Carlson is covering up... the ref is warning him to do something. He's just covering up though still and the ref has to step in to end the fight! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Renato Pereira!
