The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nuke looks to land a right hand but Evstigneev moved out of range.
Evstigneev avoids a punch combination nicely.
Nuke looks to land a combination but Evstigneev avoids it well.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Evstigneev.
Evstigneev lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Nuke backs up against the cage.
Nuke keeps the fight on the outside.
Evstigneev fails with the takedown
and Nuke counters with a nice body shot.
Evstigneev moves in looking to clinch but Nuke pushes him off.
Evstigneev throws a jab when Nuke was well out of range.
Evstigneev shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Nuke counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Alexander Evstigneev. That's going to take a lot out of him.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Evstigneev wants to stand but Nuke is controlling the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Nuke is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Nuke postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Evstigneev is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Nuke, into his guard.

Nuke is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Evstigneev defends well.

Nuke had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Evstigneev defends it easily.

Nuke is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Evstigneev frees his head nicely. Oh but Nuke has switched to an armbar! Evstigneev is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
