PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Marcel Clasie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yrjo Jarvinen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Clasie comes to the cage accompanied by Sensation White Anthem. Jarvinen is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Ini Kamoze- Here comes the hotstepper. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 14 - 0, fighting out of New York, Marcel Clasie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 31 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Yrjo Jarvinen!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, James Ackerman and Sam Margolis.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Clasie closes the distance and pushes Jarvinen back into the cage.
Jarvinen can't find room to land a body shot as Clasie controls the action.

Jarvinen manages to break the clinch.
Jarvinen throws a jab but it's blocked by Clasie.
Jarvinen uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Clasie.
Clasie tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Jarvinen's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Clasie connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Jarvinen scrambles back to his feet.

Jarvinen is trying to trip Clasie. He has hold of a leg but Clasie is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Jarvinen persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

and Jarvinen cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Clasie gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Clasie swings wildly with an uppercut but Jarvinen uses good head movement to avoid it.

Clasie goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
A frustrated look appears on Jarvinen's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Clasie lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Jarvinen backwards.
Jarvinen lands with a left to the head.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
A right hook to the body lands for Clasie.
Jarvinen has Clasie pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Clasie manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Clasie lands on the inside with an uppercut.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Clasie just misses with a elbow thrown towards Jarvinen's brow.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Maybe Clasie would be better served going for some more strikes rather than trying to control so much.

Jarvinen's coach down at Soul Supremacy Elite Gym was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Jarvinen's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

Jarvinen has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Clasie clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

Jarvinen has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Clasie has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Clasie is trying to get back to his feet but Jarvinen has full control of the position and if anything, Clasie has just worked his way into a worse spot.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Jarvinen is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Clasie is defending well.
Clasie tries to throw a body punch but Jarvinen avoids it by throwing Clasie back against the cage.
Jarvinen is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.

Jarvinen lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Clasie down.

Jarvinen goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Clasie has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Jarvinen but great work by Clasie.
