Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Joan Ryan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hector Marchine (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Edson Gomes and Seu Braga.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A low kick from Ryan misses
and Marchine counters with a nice body kick.
Marchine shoots and misses
and Ryan counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Ryan loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Ryan stays in close to Marchine's body and controls the position.
Ryan won't allow Marchine to get back to his feet.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Ryan wants to stand but Marchine is controlling his posture from full guard.
Ryan knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Marchine on the ground.

Marchine pulls guard effortlessly.
Marchine utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Marchine looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Marchine is trying to control the position but Ryan postures up.
Ryan postures up in Marchine's guard and throws a big left but Marchine blocks it.
Marchine controls Ryan momentarily but Ryan frees himself.
Ryan slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Ryan landing with strikes to the head and body from side control.
Ryan goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Marchine has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Ryan but great work by Marchine.

Marchine is looking to take a break and control but Ryan is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Ryan on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Ryan tries to get out of the position.
Ryan wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Marchine wants to stand but Ryan is controlling his arm.

Marchine is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Ryan will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Ryan looks to move to half guard but instead Marchine has passed into mount! Damn!

Marchine lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Marchine throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Marchine tries to control but Ryan wriggling away.
Ryan might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Marchine misses with a head shot.
Marchine looking to control but Ryan is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Marchine looking to secure an arm triangle but Ryan defends it well.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Marchine unloads with some shots from mount but Ryan bucks and avoids them well.

A close round but Hector Marchine will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Ryan tries a head kick but it misses.
Marchine tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Ryan closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Marchine doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Ryan counters by moving into the clinch.
Ryan breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Marchine is trying to break the clinch but Ryan is controlling him.
Marchine is looking for a takedown.
Ryan digs a right hand underneath Marchine's ribcage. Marchine let out a lung full of air as it connected.
Ryan tightens his grip and picks Marchine up, before dumping him to the ground. Marchine manages to land in guard.
Joan Ryan overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Ryan wants to stand and escape but instead Marchine has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Ryan wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Marchine trying to control but Ryan is working from the bottom.
Ryan looking to control.
Marchine slips nicely into half guard.
Ryan tries to get to full guard but Marchine has control of the leg.
Ryan is pressing down on Marchine's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Marchine looking to sit in guard and control but Ryan gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Marchine is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Ryan is controlling him.

Ryan avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ryan would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Marchine has an active guard here but Ryan has managed to pass into half guard.
Marchine wants to improve his position but Ryan is controlling well.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Joan Ryan.

Ryan lands a nice uppercut.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Ryan has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Marchine clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Ryan wants to control the position but Marchine frees himself and scrambles - Ryan manages to regain control in side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Joan Ryan dominated that second round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. And we move into the final round!
Marchine shoots in for a takedown but Ryan shows good takedown defense.
Ryan changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Marchine looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Marchine wants to control but Ryan postures up.
Ryan takes a little break here. Marchine wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
Marchine tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Ryan presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!

Marchine can't escape the position.
Marchine wants to hold on but Ryan pushes him away.
Marchine regains half guard.
Marchine wants to control but Ryan is keeping busy.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Ryan wants to stand but Marchine has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.

Ryan looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
We're going to have a standup here because Joan Ryan wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
No joy there for Ryan, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Ryan throws a series of punches but Marchine moves out of range.

Ryan drives through and clinches with Marchine against the cage.
Marchine jumps into guard, dragging Ryan to the mat.
Ryan postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ryan is sitting in close to Marchine's body. Marchine has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Ryan is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Ryan is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Marchine.
