Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alonzo Guerra (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tommy Ricken (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Alonzo Guerra!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tommy Ricken!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Dean Styles and Lou da Vinci.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Guerra stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Guerra wants it to stay on the feet.

Guerra moves into range and clinches up with Ricken.
Ricken has had enough of the clinch but Guerra keeps him there for the moment.
Guerra prevents the takedown attempt.

Guerra is fighting off a takedown attempt but Ricken is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Guerra to the mat. Guerra regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Guerra really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Guerra pulls Ricken in close to prevent any damage.
Ricken must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Guerra is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Guerra wants to work for an arm triangle but Ricken is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ricken has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Guerra is working away from the top position though.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Guerra shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Ricken sprawls well. Ricken wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Guerra gets slowly back to his feet.
Ricken avoids the head kick by Guerra.

Guerra shoots in looking for a takedown but Ricken manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Guerra's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Ricken lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.


It looks like Alonzo Guerra has been cut.
Guerra keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Ricken stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Guerra swivels though and keeps the full guard.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Ricken shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Guerra is trying to defend but Ricken finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Ricken takes a little break here. Guerra wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
Ricken wants to lay and pray for a moment but Guerra keeps working.

Ricken looks up at the clock and then as Guerra takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Ricken smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Guerra is not content to let Ricken control the position.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Ricken has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tommy Ricken showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!


Guerra throws a head kick but Ricken moves out of range.

Guerra fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Ricken sprawls well initially but Guerra persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Guerra is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Ricken doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Guerra.
Ricken is looking to control Guerra's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Ricken avoid being mounted?

Guerra is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Ricken wants to improve his position but Guerra is controlling well.

Ricken gets back to full guard.
Ricken wants to stand up but Guerra is controlling him.

Ricken looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Ricken has his foot on Guerra's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Guerra works his way back into a safe position though.

Ricken is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Ricken escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Guerra leaves Ricken with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Guerra dodges the punch combination from Ricken.
Ricken takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Ricken tries to bum rush Guerra with a series of wild strikes but Guerra uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Guerra fails with an attempt to clinch.
Ricken takes one on the chin but seems OK.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Guerra is defended easily by Ricken.
Guerra looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Ricken is fending him off so far but Guerra persists. Nope, Ricken circles away and we're back to standing.

Guerra fails with an attempt to clinch.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Ricken.

Ricken decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Ricken with the ground and pound but Guerra uses the opportunity to regain guard.
Guerra is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Ricken controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Ricken working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Guerra's head.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Tommy Ricken comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Ricken has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
