Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Brendan Bell!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Bruno Serafin!
The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Thiago Cunha and Luis Engracia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Serafin moves out of range as Bell throws a body kick.
Brendan Bell seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bell dives in for a single leg takedown but Serafin sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Bell avoiding damage.
Bell presses Serafin against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.

Bell ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Bell no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Bell is pulling down on Serafin's head to control his posture.
Bell could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Serafin thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Serafin trying to control the position from guard on top but Bell is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Serafin is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Serafin postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Bell is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Serafin, into his guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Serafin is on top in guard.
Serafin wants to control from the top but Bell keeps moving.
Bell knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Serafin on the ground.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Bell looking to control but Serafin passes into half guard.

Serafin is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Bell doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Serafin.
Bell trying to keep hold of his opponent's head but Serafin manages to pass to mount!

Serafin is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Bell is surviving well by controlling Serafin's body position as best he can.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Bell wants to control but Serafin is having none of it.

Serafin has control of Bell's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Bell regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Serafin is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Serafin looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Serafin unloads with some shots from mount but Bell bucks and avoids them well.
Poor strikes thrown by Serafin there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

Serafin wants to finish this one by submission but Bell is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Serafin.

Serafin is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Bell to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Bell shrugs it off.
Bell might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Bell is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Serafin locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Bell is forced to tap!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Bruno Serafin!
