Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Magnus Scott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Adam Voflsban (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Scott's entrance music is Ironfist. A fine choice. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Magnus Scott! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Adam Voflsban! The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Roger Salmon and Chris Saunders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Scott shoots for a takedown but Voflsban saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Scott gets caught napping as Voflsban dives in and scores a takedown. Scott manages to retain guard. Scott has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Scott is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Scott prevents Voflsban from improving his position. Scott is looking to take a break and control but Voflsban is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Scott is looking to advance position but Voflsban won't allow it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Scott is working hard here to advance position. Scott trying to control the action but Voflsban is working from the bottom. Scott thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Voflsban's head. Scott takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Scott is thwarting Voflsban's attempts to control the position. Voflsban looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Scott wants to lay and pray for a moment but Voflsban keeps working. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Voflsban is holding on to half guard well. Scott is trying to control. Voflsban wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Voflsban misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Voflsban tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Scott has advanced to mount. Uh oh. Scott looking to control but Voflsban is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Scott blocks Voflsban's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom. Voflsban really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Scott. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Voflsban is desperately trying to improve his position but Scott has a good base and remains in mount. Scott controlling his opponent. Scott throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Voflsban can do anything to dispel that myth. Scott thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Scott looking to ground and pound but Voflsban is blocking nicely. Voflsban wants to control but Scott is having none of it. Scott has hold of Voflsban's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Voflsban manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Scott looking to control but Voflsban is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Voflsban tries to hold on but Scott pushes him away. Voflsban is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Scott is staying active. Scott trying to control but he's not successful this time. Scott has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Voflsban's face.
Scott breaks from Voflsban's wrist control and lands an elbow. Scott throwing strikes here but Voflsban is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Scott lands with some strikes. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Scott with the ground and pound from mount. Scott controlling the position easily from mount. Scott landing punches. Scott sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Scott misses with a head shot. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Voflsban is squirming around, avoiding Scott's attempts to control the action. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Voflsban stuffs the takedown attempt from Scott. Scott gets slowly back to his feet. Voflsban closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Scott did well to prevent Voflsban getting side control. Voflsban is thwarting Scott's attempts to control the position. Voflsban is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Scott has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Scott is staying active underneath Voflsban, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Scott holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now. Scott slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Scott wants to stand and escape but Voflsban is having none of it. Scott seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Scott keeping full guard, as Voflsban tries to pass. Scott keeping moving, preventing Voflsban from controlling successfully.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. No luck with that takedown attempt from Scott.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Scott shoots and misses and Voflsban moves into the clinch. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Magnus Scott. That's going to take a lot out of him. Voflsban has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Scott regains guard immediately. Voflsban trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Voflsban prevents Scott from getting back to his feet. Voflsban is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Magnus Scott overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Scott can't keep his opponent in guard - Voflsban advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Voflsban wants to take a breather but Scott is having none of it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Voflsban wants to work for an arm triangle but Scott is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Voflsban is breathing heavily. Voflsban trying to control the pace. Scott has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Voflsban is working away from the top position though. Scott works his way to full guard. Good work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Scott is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Voflsban is looking to advance position but Scott has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount! Voflsban avoids a series of strikes thrown by Scott.
Voflsban tries to get back to half guard but can't. Voflsban blocking the ground and pound. Scott with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Scott trying to control but he's not successful this time. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Adam Voflsban will probably get the nod - 10:9. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! And we move into the final round!

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Voflsban holds on and takes a little breather. Scott trying to control the position from guard on top but Voflsban is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Voflsban trying to control the position.
We're going to have a standup here because Magnus Scott wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Voflsban leaves Scott with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Magnus Scott. That's going to take a lot out of him. Scott misses with a takedown attempt and Voflsban counters by moving into the clinch. Voflsban's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Scott fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Scott goes for a double leg but Voflsban avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Voflsban continues to drive forward. Scott is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Voflsban pulls him back up using the underhooks. Scott is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Voflsban can't fight it off and eventually Scott manages to take the fight to the floor. Voflsban looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. Voflsban is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Scott is aware though and is defending well. Voflsban has his foot on Scott's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Scott works his way back into a safe position though. This has been an exciting period of action! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Voflsban working a defensive guard here.
