Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Norberto Oneil (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pablo Arai (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Oneil closes the distance and clinches.
A bit of stalling here from Oneil.
Arai wants to break the clinch but can't.

Arai pulls guard successfully.
Oneil is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Arai throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Oneil escapes and throws Arai's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Oneil lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Arai down.
Arai is trying to control Oneil's posture but Oneil avoids it.

Oneil is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Arai is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Arai slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Oneil wants to pass the guard but Arai is defending well.

Oneil wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Oneil is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Arai wants to stand but Oneil has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Arai is fighting to break Oneil's control of his arms but Oneil is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Oneil is pulling down on Arai's head. It's preventing any offense from Arai, at least for the moment.

Arai wants to get up but he can't break Oneil's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Oneil working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Arai doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Arai manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Oneil throws his legs up looking for a submission but Arai uses it to pass to side control.
Arai wants to stand but Oneil has his arm trapped.

Arai wants to lay and pray for a moment but Oneil keeps working.
Oneil sneaks back into half guard.

Arai is trying to work for a kimura but Oneil is defending well.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Oneil is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Arai is desperately trying to improve his position but Oneil has a good base and remains in mount.

Pablo Arai's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
