Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Emerson Cain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bobby Tate (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cain comes to the cage accompanied by I Love this Road (Emerson Drive). Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
14 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Emerson Cain! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bobby Tate! The judges for this bout are William Peck, Ian Loll and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A combination from Tate does no damage. Cain rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Tate moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Tate will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Cain throws a half hearted mid kick. The crowd cheers as Cain lands an impressive looking overhand right. Tate doesn't seem phased though. Tate tries to clinch but Cain moves away and Cain counters with a takedown into side control. Tate is looking for a sweep. Cain tries for a kimura but Tate is defending well. Tate gets back to half guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Tate tries to roll over but Cain keeps him under control. Cain passes to full mount! Tate is working to get back to half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tate is still trying to improve position. Cain swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Tate is now in Cain's guard. A big mistake from Cain there, giving up the dominant position! Cain looking for a sweep. Not yet Cain, not yet. Tate working some strikes from top position. Cain wants to stand up but Tate is controlling him. Tate is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Tate got a little sloppy there for a moment and Cain has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Tate has managed to get both his arms back between Cain's legs - danger averted. Cain is pulling down on Tate's head. It's preventing any offense from Tate, at least for the moment.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Tate throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Cain manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Tate manages to get himself to full guard.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Cain wants to pass the guard but Tate is keeping the position. Cain drops back, looking for a kneebar! Tate looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Tate looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Tate! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Cain struggling a bit here. Tate scores with punches from side control. Cain manages to work his way to half guard, despite Tate's best efforts.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Tate throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Tate works his foot free and advances to mount. Cain tries to buck Tate off but he can't manage it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Tate wants to control the pace but Cain is squirming around nicely. Cain wants to hold on but Tate pushes him away. Cain looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio. Tate looking to finish Cain with some ground and pound. This is bad for Cain! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Tate avoids the attempt from Cain to control. Tate cracks Cain with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
It looks like Emerson Cain has been cut. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Tate jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Cain is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Cain and Tate has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Cain tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Tate wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Cain is looking to reverse the position. Cain struggling a bit here. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Cain controls the position for a moment. Cain gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Emerson Cain will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Emerson Cain's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Tate scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Cain is trying to get back to full guard. Tate seems to be working for a kimura but Cain defends the submission attempt. Bobby Tate has got the better of the ground game so far. Tate is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Cain defends it well. Cain looking for submissions off his back. Tate throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Tate is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Cain is just riding it out for now. Tate eventually gives up the hold. Cain on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tate tries to pass the half guard into mount. Cain knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Cain regains full guard. Nicely done. Cain wants to get back to his feet but Tate is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Tate throwing strikes but missing. Cain managing to control the position. Tate stops Cain from standing up. Tate postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cain keeping moving, preventing Tate from controlling successfully. Cain is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Tate wants to pass the guard but Cain is keeping the position. Tate preventing the sweep. Tate stops Cain from standing up.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Cain looks to land a combination but Tate avoids it well. Tate fails to land the takedown. Cain lands with a nice combination. Tate backs away looking to recover. Tate feints and as Cain raises his hands in defense, Tate changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Tate prevents Cain from getting back to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Tate loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Tate not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Cain is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Tate is pressing down on Cain's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Cain drops back, looking for a kneebar! Tate looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Tate looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! He's bucked Tate off and has taken his back!

A close second round but Bobby Tate will probably get the nod - 10:9. The cut man is working on Emerson Cain's cut. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!
Cain keeps the fight on the outside. Cain throws a series of punches but Tate avoids them all with ease. Cain ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Emerson Cain seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Tate shoots in for a takedown but Cain shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Tate takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Tate tries for a takedown but Cain sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Cain misses with a body shot.

Cain connects with a body shot that sends Tate's belly button to the back. Tate dives in and grabs Cain's left leg, looking for a takedown. Cain pushes down on Tate's head and hops out. Tate fails to land the takedown. Tate takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Cain wants to clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tate dives in for a single leg takedown but Cain sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Cain wants the takedown. Tate is fighting it off but Cain persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Tate's guard against the cage. Tate keeping moving, preventing Cain from controlling successfully.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Tate doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Tate changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Cain tries to avoid it but Tate manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Cain to the ground. Cain escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Cain lands a lovely overhand right. Tate moves out of range as Cain throws a body kick.
Tate tries to score a power double leg takedown but Cain sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Tate somewhat. Cain connects with a right hand. Tate shakes it off. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Tate tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Cain looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Tate misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Cain swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cain connects with a jab. Cain cracks a nice hook into Tate's ribs. Cain delivers a nice body kick. Cain scores with a jab to the body. Cain pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Cain lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Tate backs up against the cage.
Cain scores with the left hand. Tate knows he should have avoided that one. Tate takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Tate takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Cain jabs at Tate's body. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Tate shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Cain manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Tate looking to sit in guard and control but Cain gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Tate can't keep his opponent in guard - Cain advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Cain is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Cain is thwarting Tate's attempts to control the position. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Tate tries to roll over but Cain keeps him under control. Cain seems to be looking for submissions.
And that's the end of the fight! Emerson Cain showed his dominance in that final round. Well Cain has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
