21 - 21 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Fedor Emelianenko! The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Steve Erwin and Hugh Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Emelianenko slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
It looks like Antonio Rogerio Nogueria has been cut. Emelianenko fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Nogueria shoots in looking for a takedown but Emelianenko manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Nogueria's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. A momentary lapse in concentration from Nogueria enables Emelianenko to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Nogueria manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Nogueria is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Emelianenko defends well. Emelianenko looking to pass the guard. Nogueria is looking for a triangle but Emelianenko pushes his legs off easily.

Let's hope that Emelianenko has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
