Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Fernando Park (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Malcolm King (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Malcolm King will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Fernando Park!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Malcolm King!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Winston Howard and John Mangel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Park shoots in for a takedown but King shows good takedown defense.
Park will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

King closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - King lands in his opponent's guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
King trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
King in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
King wants to control from the top but Park keeps moving.
Park wants to stand but King is controlling the position.
Park could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
King forces his way into half guard.
Park flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.

That's one minute gone in the round.

King is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
King is trying to control. Park wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

King gets to his feet - back to striking we go!
King goes for a double leg but Park avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Park continues to drive forward.
King is working for takedown but Park is calmly controlling the position for now.
King looking for a takedown.
Fernando Park has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Malcolm King.

Park breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Park throws a right and a left that King avoids nicely.
Park tries a head kick but it misses.
Park throws a sloppy head kick and King moves out of range easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Park closes the distance and clinches.
King tries to pull guard but Park forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

Park pulls guard successfully.
King pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Park is keeping the position for now.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Park thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
King postures up in Park's guard and throws a big left but Park blocks it.
King wants to control from the top but Park keeps moving.

King stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Park swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Park keeping moving, preventing King from controlling successfully.
King missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Park avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Park controls King momentarily but King frees himself.
Park is adopting a defensive guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Park is looking to clinch but King is avoiding it.
Nice shot lands for Park.

King shoots in and gets a takedown into Park's guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
King trying to control but Park is working from the bottom.
Park is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Park is breathing heavily.

Park is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
King pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Park is keeping the position for now.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
King landing with the ground and pound.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Malcolm King dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Park closes the distance and clinches.

Park works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.

King has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Park should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, King has tightened it up now! Park should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:32 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Malcolm King!
