The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Guevera fails with a takedown attempt.
Simpson tries for a takedown but Guevera sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

and Guevera counters with a single leg into guard. Simpson didn't expect that.
Guevera will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Simpson is looking for a triangle but Guevera pushes his legs off easily.
Guevera lands a couple of digs.

Simpson is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Guevera defends well.
Guevera trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Guevera sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Simpson's guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Guevera is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Simpson sees it coming and defends easily.

Guevera tries to pass the half guard into mount. Simpson knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Guevera looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Simpson with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Simpson can't escape the position.

Simpson takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! Guevera's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.
