3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Randy Huber! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jonathan Vinyard! The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Stewart Dunkirk and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Huber gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Vinyard is trying to pull guard but Huber turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Huber successfully pulls guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Vinyard wants to control from the top but Huber keeps moving. Vinyard wants to stand but Huber has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Vinyard is fighting to break Huber's control of his arms but Huber is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Vinyard advances to half guard. Huber regains full guard. Nicely done. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Huber holds on and takes a little breather. Huber wants to stand but Vinyard is controlling the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Vinyard trying to stand up but can't free himself from Huber's guard. Huber wants to stand and escape but Vinyard is having none of it. Huber avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Vinyard wants to stand but Huber has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Huber is controlling Vinyard's posture. Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Vinyard looks for a takedown but Huber sprawls well. Huber slaps away a takedown attempt from Vinyard, before circling back to the center of the mat. Randy Huber has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jonathan Vinyard. Vinyard looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Huber dives in and scores a takedown into Vinyard's guard. Huber's corner is telling him to maintain position. Vinyard trying to keep a closed guard but Huber is proving a slippery customer.

Huber postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Vinyard is trying to control the position but Huber postures up. Huber is looking to stand up but Vinyard won't let him. Huber stays in close to Vinyard's body and controls the position.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Huber is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Vinyard's half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Huber seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Vinyard pushes Huber off looking to stand but Huber dives back in and keeps control.

Huber displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Vinyard. Randy Huber has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jonathan Vinyard. Huber shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Vinyard is trying to defend but Huber finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Huber seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

No, Vinyard has managed to free his arm - good work. Huber prevents Vinyard from improving his position. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Horrible takedown by Vinyard or perhaps it was just good defense by Huber which made him look bad. Huber has closed the distance and engaged Vinyard in a clinch.
Huber gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. Vinyard has momentary wrist control but Huber slips an elbow through the middle. Vinyard escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Huber gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Huber passes Vinyard's right leg, so he's now in half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Vinyard takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Huber is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

Huber knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Vinyard on the ground. Well, if Huber is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

That's three minutes gone in the round. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Huber has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Vinyard shoots in for a takedown but Huber shows good takedown defense. Vinyard gets caught napping as Huber dives in and scores a takedown. Vinyard manages to retain guard. Vinyard is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Huber defends well. Huber looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

We're going to have a standup here because Randy Huber wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Vinyard has his takedown stuffed and Huber counters with a shoot takedown. Vinyard fights it but they end up in guard.
