Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Luke Davies (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nigel Steele (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Luke Davies! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Nigel Steele! The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Paulo Santos and Felipe Paraventi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Steele throws a head kick but Davies moves out of range.
Davies instigates a clinch. Steele breaks the clinch.
Davies could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Davies is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Davies showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Steele.
Davies fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Steele manages to avoid it. Steele looks for a takedown but Davies sprawls well. Davies closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Steele circles away from the clinch attempt.
Davies tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Steele drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Steele avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Davies pulls Steele in to control the position. Davies might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Davies wants to stand and escape but Steele is having none of it. Davies looking for a sweep. Not yet Davies, not yet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Davies looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Steele pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Davies is keeping the position for now. Steele wants to control from the top but Davies keeps moving. Davies wants to stand but Steele is controlling the position. Steele trying to control the position from guard on top but Davies is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. A nice combination there by Davies.
It looks like Nigel Steele has been cut. Davies tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Steele paws at him with a jab and circles away. Steele has a takedown stuffed. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Steele. Luke Davies has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nigel Steele.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Steele slips a jab and a cross from Davies.
Luke Davies is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Davies throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Steele counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Davies is lucky that one didn't land flush. Davies is breathing heavily. A head kick by Davies misses and Steele holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Steele keeps control of Davies as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Steele wants to break the clinch but can't.
Davies has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Steele regains guard immediately. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Davies working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Steele bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Davies's guard. Steele trying to control the position from guard on top but Davies is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Steele is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. That's three minutes gone in the round. Steele loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Steele trying to control but Davies is working from the bottom. Davies looking for a sweep. Not yet Davies, not yet. Davies is trying to keep Steele in close.
Steele must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Davies keeping moving, preventing Steele from controlling successfully.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Steele shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Davies's guard. Steele wants to stand but Davies is controlling his posture from full guard. Davies looking for a sweep. Not yet Davies, not yet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Steele pushing down on Davies's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Steele tries to pass the half guard into mount. Davies knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Davies is trying to get back to full guard. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Davies gets back to full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Nigel Steele dominated that round. The cut man is working on Nigel Steele's cut. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Davies keeps the fight on the outside. Steele shoots in looking for a takedown. Davies tries to sprawl out of it but Steele keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Davies manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Davies Rushes Steele and starts throwing punches like they are going out of style! Steele is up against the cage and has nowhere to go. Davies Piles on the pressure and Steele crumples to the floor! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:17 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Luke Davies!
