Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Denny Serrano! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Leonard Grumppbell! The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Phil Schofield and Richard Clark.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Grumppbell looks for a takedown but Serrano sprawls well. Serrano shoots and misses and Grumppbell counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Serrano with a lazy takedown attempt and Grumppbell counters with a nice body kick.
Serrano shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Grumppbell as he avoids it easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Denny Serrano. That's going to take a lot out of him. Serrano throws a head kick that misses. Grumppbell stuffs the takedown attempt from Serrano. Serrano gets slowly back to his feet. Serrano wants to clinch. Serrano shoots and misses and Grumppbell counters with a nice low kick that buckles Serrano's knee momentarily. Serrano stuffs the takedown. Grumppbell leaves Serrano with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Grumppbell misses with a hook.
That's one minute gone in the round. Serrano closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Grumppbell to the mat! Grumppbell manages to get full guard. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Serrano got a little sloppy there for a moment and Grumppbell has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Serrano has managed to get both his arms back between Grumppbell's legs - danger averted. Serrano is sitting in close to Grumppbell's body. Grumppbell has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Serrano is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Serrano is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Grumppbell.
