The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vikstrom misses with a takedown attempt - Bass sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Vikstrom looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Vikstrom changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Bass looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Bass lands a nice hook to Vikstrom's body. Vikstrom takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Bass fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Vikstrom, pushing him back against the cage.

Bass lands with a nice combination. Vikstrom backs away looking to recover.

Bass's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Vikstrom fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Vikstrom has his foot on Bass's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Bass works his way back into a safe position though.

Vikstrom is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Bass wants to control from the top but Vikstrom keeps moving.
Vikstrom working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Bass doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Bass manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Bass is posturing up here but Vikstrom has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Bass tries to roll out but it's too tight and Bass has to tap! Slick submission there by Vikstrom!
