Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Angel Santiago (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joel Armia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Angel Santiago! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Joel Armia! The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, John Kavanagh and Jonathan Paton.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Armia throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Santiago's waist but Santiago gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Armia off to one side. Santiago has closed the distance and engaged Armia in a clinch.
Santiago jumps guard and drags Armia to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Armia wants to pass the guard but Santiago is keeping the position. Santiago wants to sweep here but Armia controlling him for the moment. Santiago might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Santiago trying to control the position here. Santiago is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Santiago looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Armia passes into half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Armia missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Armia seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Armia is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Santiago controlling the position for now. Santiago tries to get to full guard but Armia has control of the leg. Armia looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Armia is trying to control. Santiago wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Joel Armia wasn't active enough on the ground. Armia shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Santiago pinned against the cage. Santiago gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Armia misses with a takedown attempt and Santiago counters with a nice body kick. Angel Santiago has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joel Armia. Santiago instigates a clinch. Santiago crunches a lovely knee into Armia's ribcage. Santiago lands a right hand. Santiago manages to break the clinch.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Santiago scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Armia looks winded! You can see the frustration on Armia's face as Santiago controls the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Santiago throwing shots but missing, from side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Santiago looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Armia tries to buck Santiago off but Santiago is having none of it. Santiago really is a fat lump. Santiago stands up. Santiago will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Santiago shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Armia but Armia pushes him off and we're back to square one. Armia connects with a looping right hand.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Santiago. No luck with that takedown attempt from Armia. Santiago will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Armia shoots in but Santiago avoids the takedown attempt easily. Armia fails with an attempt to clinch.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Armia tries a head kick but it misses.
No luck for Santiago with that takedown attempt. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Angel Santiago dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Armia throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Armia rushes Santiago and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Santiago is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Armia has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Santiago uses from the top position. Santiago slips nicely into half guard, despite the strikes coming from Armia. Santiago missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Armia is trying to maintain the position but Santiago is very close to passing his half guard. Santiago is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Armia! Santiago controlling from mount.
That's one minute gone in the round. Armia tries to lock up and control but Santiago gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Armia really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Armia wants to hold on but Santiago pushes him away. Armia keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Santiago takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Santiago throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Santiago is standing up, even though he is in mount. Nice takedown defense from Armia. No joy for Santiago on that attempt. Armia throws a left and a right that both miss
and Santiago counters by clinching up. Santiago lands a knee to the body.

Santiago wants a takedown but no success here.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Angel Santiago. That's going to take a lot out of him. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Armia is trying to maintain a safe position but Santiago gets an underhook and turns Armia into the cage. Santiago lands with a left to the head. Santiago has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Armia uses from the top position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Armia wants to control from the top but Santiago keeps moving. Santiago is pulling down on Armia's head to control his posture. Armia slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Joel Armia hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Santiago takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Santiago goes for a double leg but Armia avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Armia continues to drive forward.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Armia trying to land knees to the body.

Armia closes the distance and clinches up with Santiago, looking for a takedown. Armia pushes Santiago against the cage but Santiago circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Armia shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Armia is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Santiago has managed to free his arm - good work. Angel Santiago overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Santiago manages to get to full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Joel Armia will probably get the nod - 10:9. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! And we move into the final round!
Armia shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Santiago as he jumps to the side. Santiago cracks the inside of Armia's front leg. Santiago has closed the distance and engaged Armia in a clinch.
Armia is looking to take this one to the mat. Armia tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Angel Santiago has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joel Armia. Santiago escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Angel Santiago is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Santiago closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nice elbow from Santiago. Armia tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Santiago smiles and moves away.
Armia takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Santiago fails with a takedown attempt. Santiago instigates a clinch. Santiago decides to pull guard. Santiago is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Armia is controlling him. Santiago is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Santiago looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Santiago has control of Armia's left arm, preventing Armia from doing any damage. Armia is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Santiago is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Santiago has escaped and now he's on top! Armia keeping moving, preventing Santiago from controlling successfully. Santiago stopping the sweep attempt from Armia.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Armia wants to get back to his feet but Santiago passes into half guard.
Santiago perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Armia trying to control from the bottom.
The fighters are battling for position here. Armia manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Armia has Santiago pulled in close to control his posture. Santiago is stalling in the full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Armia escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Santiago gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Santiago slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Armia trying to remain calm as Santiago controls from the top position. Santiago decides to stand back up. Santiago steps back and let's Armia get back to his feet.
And that's the end of the fight! Angel Santiago showed his dominance in that final round. Well Santiago has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
