Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jimmie Wilcox! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Alex Oliveira! The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Thiago Cunha and Leandro Rodrigues.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Oliveira closes the distance looking to clinch and Wilcox counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Wilcox keeps control of Oliveira as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. A frustrated look appears on Oliveira's face as he tries to break the clinch. Oliveira has had enough of the clinch but Wilcox keeps him there for the moment. Oliveira letting Wilcox take a breather here. Wilcox has Oliveira pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Oliveira manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Oliveira is trying to force a seperation but Wilcox has the dominant position. Oliveira is pressed up against the cage. Wilcox has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Oliveira down to the mat. Oliveira avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Wilcox circles away from the clinch attempt and Wilcox counters by moving into the clinch. Wilcox's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Wilcox has taken the fight to the clinch.

Wilcox tries for a takedown but Oliveira manages to get underhooks.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jimmie Wilcox. That's going to take a lot out of him. Oliveira is trying to break free. Oliveira is trying to pull guard but Wilcox turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Wilcox changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Oliveira fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Oliveira shoots for a takedown but Wilcox saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Wilcox could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Wilcox stuffs the takedown attempt from Oliveira. Oliveira gets slowly back to his feet. Oliveira closes this distance looking for a takedown but Wilcox circles away. No luck with that takedown attempt from Oliveira. Oliveira shoots in looking for a takedown but Wilcox manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Oliveira's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Wilcox fails with a takedown attempt.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Oliveira tries to clinch up and Wilcox counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Wilcox. Wilcox pulls Oliveira into guard.
Wilcox is controlling Oliveira's posture. Oliveira avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Oliveira tries to free his leg and advance position but Wilcox is retaining full guard. Wilcox manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

That's three minutes gone in the round. Wilcox lands a couple of good shots and Oliveira has given up his back, trying to escape the position! Wilcox punches the canvas rather than the man. Wilcox has his opponent's back and is working for the choke. Oliveira is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Wilcox.
Oliveira has the hand control, trying to stop the rear naked choke.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Wilcox is working the back position looking for the choke. Oh, he's slid into an armbar! Beautiful transition and Oliveira taps out! Fantastic Jiu Jitsu from Wilcox.
