Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joe McLennan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Yody (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McLennan comes to the ring accompanied by Irish Rover - The Pogues. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Joe McLennan! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jack Yody! The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Chad Campbell and Bruno Lombardi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McLennan misses with a series of wild punches.

McLennan tries to clinch but fails miserably and Yody counters with a straight right hand. Oooooh!!! McLennan has knocked Yody down with a huge combo! McLennan steps away and waves a wobbly Yody back to his feet! This one might not go much longer! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! McLennan wants to clinch and Yody counters with a stiff right hand. Yody looking to score a takedown here. McLennan is defending well but Yody drives through and ends up in McLennan's guard. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. McLennan is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Yody must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Yody throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as McLennan works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Yody throws a big right hand that misses. Yody pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. McLennan is keeping the position for now. McLennan wants to stand and escape but Yody is having none of it.
That's one minute gone in the round. McLennan is breathing heavily. Yody content to stall in guard here. Yody lands a couple of digs. McLennan being controlled here, momentarily. McLennan looking to hit a scissor sweep but Yody is one step ahead there.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. McLennan avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Yody shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. McLennan is trying to defend but Yody finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Yody wants to free his trapped foot but McLennan is holding on for dear life with his legs. McLennan pushes Yody off looking to stand but Yody dives back in and keeps control.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. McLennan is trying to get back to full guard. Yody winds up and cracks McLennan with a swinging punch to the side of the head. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Yody tries to pass to full mount but McLennan defends it. Yody working McLennan over with strikes.
That's three minutes gone in the round. McLennan looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Yody scoring with strikes to the body and head. Yody is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Yody is looking to advance position but McLennan won't allow it. McLennan missing with punches from the bottom.
Yody is looking to take a break and control but McLennan is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Yody scoring with strikes to the body and head. Yody lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Yody connects with a nice short shot to McLennan's temple. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Nice strikes from Yody there. Yody really doesn't want to stay on the ground with McLennan. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. McLennan wants to get back to full guard. McLennan trying to control here.
McLennan tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land. Yody slips a nice elbow through McLennan's hands, connecting with McLennan's forehead. Yody stalling. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Yody looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jack Yody dominated that round. That's time! Back to the action!
Yody closes the distance and clinches. McLennan misses with a punch to the body.
Yody is trying to drag McLennan to the mat but McLennan just about manages to keep his footing. He used the ropes to his advantage there. McLennan stops a takedown attempt from Yody.
McLennan throws a head punch that misses. McLennan is trying to break free. Yody is struggling to control the position. Yody drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Joe McLennan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jack Yody. Yody blocks an uppercut.
Yody tries for a takedown. No joy.
McLennan tries to circle away but Yody has him pinned against the ropes. McLennan misses with a punch on the inside.
McLennan is defending well against a takedown attempt.
That's one minute gone in the round. Yody is looking for a takedown. A head punch blocked on the inside by Yody. McLennan lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. Yody goes for a takedown in the clinch but McLennan prevents it.
Yody wants a takedown.
Yody is breathing heavily. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for McLennan. Yody has clasped his hands together around McLennan's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. McLennan regains half guard. McLennan has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Yody is on him like a limpet, forcing McLennan back against the ropes. McLennan lands with a short punch from the clinch.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here. McLennan throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges. McLennan tries to break the clinch but Yody is controlling the position. McLennan tries to circle away but Yody has him pinned against the ropes. McLennan lands a hook to the side of the head. McLennan is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the ropes.
That's two minutes gone in the round. McLennan lands a hook to the side of the head. Yody is looking for a takedown up against the ropes. McLennan gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. McLennan breaks from the clinch.
Yody avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
A big right followed by a crushing left from McLennan knocks Yody out cold! Ouch - that one's going to be featured in highlight reels for years to come!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:23 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Joe McLennan! After winning the bout, Joe McLennan thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
